Finally an admission that Russia was chosen before the votes were counted and England wasted it's money, and royalty, on a non-existent bid for the World Cup. Is it any wonder the game has fallen down the toilet of corruption and it's only a matter of time before we are all squatters (if you get my drift) in someone else's world.
Ouch. Not quite sure what you are trying to say bcfcred. Would be interested to hear more of your thoughts on the matter, but nonetheless a clearly corrupt organisation making a mockery of the so-called selection process.
FIFA should be scrapped its rotten to the core. We need a new organisation with democratically elected members and a committee rather than a president.
I really don't get how he can admit that they pre-chose Russia and Qatar, but then call England bad losers? Surely he is admitting that we have a legitimate reason for moaning about losing.
FIFA should pay compensation to all the countries FAs that wasted pointless millions on their bids which were completely irrelevant. The compensation should equal the amount of money each respective country spent.
He has an 'out card' here because he said it was decided that the world cups would go to Russia 2018 and USA in 2022. and that due to some voting mind changes (Platini for one) it went to Qatar, any good lawyer would point out this is evidence that the voting system did work to a degree.. We all know it stinks and we all know its bull **** but the chances of getting any money back are remote from my point of view.... Bristol council contributed to this if I remember correctly?
The whole business was rotten to the core but there again, everyone knew it but it took a long time for the momentum to break up the old boys club to build to an unstoppable level. Interesting though how people think that the process and indeed, life in general is actually:- a). fair and b). transparent It is a total myth. Communism is an unbeatable concept in theory, we should all be equal but the reality is that there are always some who need to be more equal than others and are willing to do anything and everything to get there and as long as this is the case, fairness will never happen. Big corporate concerns run the world, not governments - they just do what they are told (or are paid to do) . The human race is nowhere near sophisticated enough yet to put the common cause ahead of everything else and act fair. There was a time when it looked like it might be heading vaguely in the right direction however in the last 20 years or so, if anything, it is getting worse. The break down of law and order is well under way when people feel that they can now decide which laws they feel shouldn't apply to them, a few examples being:- Cyclists and red lights Parents taking their kids out of school in term time We don't like or agree with those laws, they are inconvenient and don't fit our requirements so it is ok for us decide that they don't apply to us and ignore them and do what we like. Once things get to this stage, we are heading down the slippery slope to the film Idiocracy which is where mankind is headed at an exponential rate....
Great words Prem and just having got back from the Far East I saw the downside of the human race in many countries where it is obvious that whatever system they care to call it, bribery and corruption rule the roost. Until the entire world gets the message that "one for all and all for one" can actually work we don't stand a chance in hell of providing any quality of life for the oppressed and downtrodden. Sad reflection on the human race regrettably.
