While I found his occasional comments on the original 606 to be helpful and informative, sometimes I've found David M's blogs and articles to be nothing but critical rants, tirades and opinionated waffle about our club. His favorite blurb was "the mythical mittals", at a time every Rangers fan was falling in love Mittal. He also said that Mittal wasn't interested in the club, but Dave has gone a bit quiet on that one now. Anyway. It seems that there's been nothing but doom and gloom on here for the past couple of weeks since the ST price rises and Bhatia resigning. But I have to say, having been keeping an eye on Mr M on Twitter, he seems to be Mr Positive personified of late when it comes to Rangers. While people on here doubt we're going to sign anyone, let alone anyone of any quality, David M keeps saying he thinks we're going to be buying quiet a few. I doubt there is a reporter/journalist as close to Rangers as David M, and he's proven accurate in the past when it comes to our signings. How I wish other journalists were as accurate when it comes to us. Still, if David M is happy with the situation at Rangers, let's try and be a little more positive about what the coming months will bring. History should have taught us all by now that no matter how bad things seem at our club, things might not always go the way we'd like but on the whole we are on the up. Let's stay positive and not persuade ourselves that the end of the world is nigh, as there is still 2 months till the new season and at this rate we'll have suicides on our hands before then.
Nice take TLR. Lots of reasons why Mac might be upbeat at the mo: he's just back from leave and issues abound promising food for more than just thought... However, despite his pessimistic style, Mac is often right about things coming our way and I've noticed a certain optimism in his attitude of late. So, take your point. 1 2 3 - reasons to be cheerful (maybe)!
Since David M was against the Mittals (I remember those articles too, LR69), presumably the reason for his optimism is that Bhatia is out of the executive equation, and good old Flavio Fukitup is back in the driving seat. Flawed thinking imo, but these journalists are paid to be contrary. At the risk of David M's emotional health, let's hope the Mittals haven't given up on the club ...and if any one it going to end it all by jumping from one of the Loftus Road floodlights, please let it be the Goons...
