Generally "fans" have got more demanding, partly due to swallowing all the media hype around transfer and deadline day. Plus you have those "fans" who are never happy, no matter whats going on at the club. Some people only follow football to spread their own bile. For the rest of us, although it's nice to see new faces, when you look at the facts, we've made at least 3 good signings, one stunningly amazing one (Jack Cork) and the club has not been in a better shape on or off the pitch for decades. Much more important for fans to go to the games, give positive support and enjoy their football instead of pointless whinging on the internet.
To make us feel even better..did Pompey make any good signings..no! The difference is that we didn't need anyone desperately, but they do.
I don't know what the need is for sarcastic threads like this,if there are saints fans out there that are disappointed that we didn't sign anyone it's ok,it's their opinions! like i've got mine but dare i say it cos i'll be ripped apart by the happy police!
arn't you happy then? There must be something seriously wrong with you if you can't see the club is having a bloody great time at the moment.
See what i mean? pounced on.Yes i am happy, very happy but that doesn't stop me thinking that i thought we needed another striker.I just feel that everythings going well at the moment and we don't need no-one but when the **** hits the fan and we start picking up dodgy results i'll guarantee you a lot of people will point back to the transfer window.
I'm sure they will point back to the transfer window... and any other excuse they can dig up to make themselves look informed using the power of hindsight etc. Won't for a minute change the results or fans control over transfers or team selections as we have absolutely no control over them anyway. Just appears to me that some people feel "they have a right" to moan. Maybe they do, up to them, but looking at the bigger picture and pre-empting failure in such a negative way seems a bit odd to me. Perhaps some fans deep down prefer it when we are playing crap, gives them more to moan about?
There is no need for this sarcastic thread, however before the doom and gloom started, I wanted to point out that although it would have been nice to sign someone our club is still in a fantastic position.
Let's all take a chill pill. Now the transfer window has closed, the Premier League clubs will have to settle for a 25 man squad. This should release a number of good youngsters onto the loan market, so there is a chance that NA could get a young striker from this pool. I suspect a lot of clubs with limited finances will also be looking at this facility. We do have a strong and a fairly large squad, and the loan market is ideal for short/long term cover without the need to splash the cash!
Maybe there are some fans out there like that but i'm not one of them.I don't think it's fair to say that if people state an opinion different from u that they are moaning,i would of liked a striker in because i feel we need it and it would of helped the team but i don't think it should be taken as me moaning.
Couldn't agree more but why can't someone come on here and say what they feel, that's what a forum is about,it doesn't state anywhere when you sign up that you have to be happy at all times and agree with everything everyone is saying, like i said above,i would of liked a striker because i felt it would of helped the team, would you construe that as moaning or a valid opinion?
Lets all have a group hug! Fair enough no real signings of note which is a little dissapointing (see how dutchman gets on though) but to state the obvious like fatletiss, we are in a good position, have some really good players playing some great football and I for one will enjoy it!
Get daniel sturridge on the bus.. I'm sure with all there new signings he will be looking for a club to sign for
Went in search of an old thread where I could put this question and observation. Steed Malbranque..! What's your opinion..? I remember back in 2001, there were calls for him to come to Saints. He was a box to box midfielder who got deeper as he got older. For Sunderland, it seemed to me he became a holding style midfielder who would occasionally get forward. I've always had a pretty high opinion of him, and I'm wondering whether he'd be worth enquiring about, if he's available, at 31. Do we need such a footballer..? He's a free agent now, having amicably parted with Saint-Etienne yesterday, and there was that talk about him having to give up the game because of an ill son. Well, he doesn't have a son, and all his family are well, but it made me wonder whether family pressures are pushing him to stay this side of La Manche.
Steed would walk this league in terms of ability. I know nothing of his personality, fitness, salary or personal circumstance though.
