For 20 minutes at the start, Sunderland were playing excellent football and were the better team. I thought I was at the wrong game. Steven fletcher played very well for an hour and then even he eventually gave up.

Agreed. At 0-0 we looked 2nd best, at 1-0 I was worrying that we hardly had any of the ball. The second goal came from some great movement though, and after that we just kept turning it on.

I'm still not quite sure wtf happened really, or even what we're doing right at the moment. We have a lot less possession than we did last season yet we can't stop scoring. We're a bit like a boxer who stands off and waits for an opening, then lets rip with a lethal combination.

Kind words there, and appreciate those. Agree with the thoughts of the others, Sunderland weren't that bad at all in the first half - just collapsed in the second half.

The away support was outstanding, even applauding the players at the end. A refund is certainly the least they deserve.

Sunderland fan in peace.

Well done lads. Gutting to see us capitulate the way we did but really pleased for Koeman who took on a tricky job with all of the sales this summer.

You lot have played a ****ing blinder in recovering from the "Exodus".

Those who tipped you to struggle must be feeling a bit silly now.

Best of luck!

Cheers and good luck :)

Thanks, ANSD - as said here, your travelling fans were a credit and I really hope the players are man enough to give something back. Like everyone else here, I was shocked at how we could be 2-0 up after playing so badly, but we got the breaks and then your heads went down. Have seen a lot worse here at St Mary's, so I think you've got the squad to stay up. Burnley are almost certainly going back down and I think, looking at the game just now, QPR will join them. You will stay up - especially with the support the team can get. Good luck!!

The SAFC chairman is a decent bloke and seems well in tune with the fans so I expect the announcement imminent.

Aye, you say this on here, but your lass said you couldn't even get the score right when you walked through the door. <ok>
