Today the better team won, I expected us to come at you more in the second half but once we didn't get that onside goal (and don't get me wrong there was a littany of officiating errors that stung both teams so its not an excuse) we simply didn't do enough to get back into it. Oddly I think the single biggest difference between the teams today was finishing, some absolute corkers from your boys. Well done, its been a tough season but hopefully in a month or so we can all look back on a season to forget and just move on next year to more premiership derbies. You needed this more than us and deserved the result entirely.

1 - 1 its a different game, but thats no excuse for the implosion that followed. We've rode out luck at times this year and so cant complain when it starts going against. Definitely spells trouble for Wigan however
Superb Performance Sunderland .. Really pleased you have done it and escaped. That was a derby performance and our players should hold their heads very low for our performance against Fulham We should be back much stronger in a season's time

You totally did us, I honestly think the team talks sealed today. It was Asif di Canio told his players to relax and take an extra touch, whilst our players were riled by pardew hence us constantly running straight into the tackle and either getting skinned or drawing a foul. You deserve the win though, if you ply like that for the rest of the season your fine
