    Done fantastic topping the group.

England struggling for goals but qualify.

    Both teams through.

Need to improve if we are going to progress.

Waiting for Supercon to see that Wales are top and scoring 6 when he said we won't get one point or even score a goal.
To say I'm happy tonight is an understatement.

But thank you for acknowledging us RR <ok>

Ironically, we may actually have better opportunities to win against sides that actually attack us - so far we've only faced sides that have shut up shop and tried to hit on the counter; but yes, well done Wales.

I was afraid he might be right, given Wales' comparatively poor form coming into the Euros, but they've blown that away and showing they're the real deal. Though I don't think they've outperformed England, they are worthy entrants to the last 16 and could cause problems - would be unlucky if they draw a dark horse from a group of death such as Croatia, or Belgium (no problems there though right? :emoticon-0105-wink:)

To be honest I went into the tournement thinking oh **** but they all played their part.
I've read comments about putting players behind the ball v England etc but England put two on Bale so was they both guilty? Against England the pressure was immense to try and beat the team from the UK who 99% of the time qualifies. Bit like the Gas trying to beat us :)
What Wales done differently tonight was carry on and stop defending against teams when in front. They failed against Slovakia and England showed them as well, play attacking and it pays off.
Now it's squeaky bum time into the next round, but never in my wildest dreams would I expect to go into the quarters so I'm happy now for the moment.

I think that they were very defensive against England and they didn't look like a side that will go far

We were the big team in our group. The one everyone else would be happy to take a point from. 2 managed it, we'll be better against better teams. It's hard for us to win when we're playing 11 defenders. Looks as though finishing 2nd was better for the 1st knockout. Much rather have Iceland or Hungary than Croatia!

Superb performances on and off the pitch. MOM was Aaron Ramsey and the Welsh crowd's singing was excellent with a very varied repertoire. I never thought I would hear Myfanwy sung at a European Nations football tournament.

Indeed that could well be the case - of course we can't say we finished 2nd on purpose in order to get an easier draw, but it could end up that way. In a way it make a mockery of the 24 team format - I think expanding was the correct decision, given the number of quality teams in Europe, but they may as well have gone the whole hog and made it for 32 teams.

Nonetheless Wales showed what national spirit and pride is all about leaving our lot to be their usual dismal selves. I truly have not seen an England player for years who is only interested in putting in their best effort for the shirt. Well done Wales and thank you for showing our lackluster lot how it should be done when wearing your country's shirt and you, and your supporters, did your country proud after years of being the perennial second bests.

More than Giggs ever did, but equally not enough to bang on about pride

Hi ROD - Well done to Wales, it was a bit tongue in cheek when I said they wouldn't score or get a point, but TBH, I never saw a scenario where Wales would win a game, or top the group. I still maintain that games were harder for us to win, as everyone wants to take a point of the so called big teams, the combined possession % and attempts on goal from the 3 teams we have played so far, bear that out, that said we should have created and scored more than we have. The knock outs will be different teams can't play for a point, and TBH you have nothing to fear from here on in, and the way the draw looks like going I think you will reach the quarters.

Really the potential is there to be playing Portugal ... or Iceland both I think are very dodgy games
