Why would printing this story upset the Allams and risk future access to the club? If anything surely it is a positive as they would be seen to be ambitious.

Because they dont believe it to be true? Just a guess. Obviously it doesnt mean it isnt true, but if nobody else is speaking on it and his agent flat rules it out they are right to report that. I dont see anyone quoting people when they say Bruce is getting the job. And anyway, that doesnt answer my question., How could printing this story possibly upset the Allams?
exactly. so why not report it instead of others trying to create a non-story about Darren Robinson's impending promotion. all it takes is - "a source close to ...... says:"
who in their right mind would want a bloke who has to "think about it" for any length of time? if they don't jump at the chance its embarrassing...
Let's hope a) the story is true, b) he makes his decision in favour of becoming manager today c) we get the press conference asap so we can concentrate on speculating which players will join the club (the thing every club's fans do in the summer)
For me, if he has to think this much about it then that is not good. He will be after another decent job when it comes up. But we don't know the story. Some say he has been offered the job some say no contact so we are still only guessing.
I think the HDM are just worried about getting it wrong. They are the local paper so they would get criticized more than the Yorkshire Post would if they got it wrong. Mike White has been tweeting about it being Bruce but things can change so quickly and with the Allam's themselves not saying much it is probably safest to wait for them or more likely their PR company to issue some kind of statement. Saying that it will probably be twitter where the story breaks.
I posted elsewhere on here that Bruce was probably hanging on for a better offer (in his own mind), we just had Nigel Pearson at the club who allegedly didn't want to be here and now we might be getting another one just the same, well done to the owners.
