Not many people gave him much of a chance of keeping us up when he first arrived. It hasn't been pretty and it certainly hasn't been comfortable, but he's done the job he came here to do, and without our top 3 goal scorers. Those points against Stoke and Soton were crucial in the end! Commiserations to Wigan, you can tell the FA Cup has really caught up with them here. Major changes needed for next season, but right now I just want to have a few beers and enjoy the relief while it lasts. Ha'way the lads!
The PDC effect gave us the Newcastle and Everton wins. Without them we'd have been down weeks ago. The real test starts now, I'm excited about seeing a PDC team next season.
Arsenal and Swansea kept us up not Di canio, but i hope they win at mag land and we beat Spurs now to end the season on a high, then the massive rebuilding hopefully in July will start.
Not sure about that mate, I know it's all hypothetical but I doubt we'd have won another game with MON in charge the way things were going. It's ridiculous that we had to rely on other teams after the money that was spent, but PdC was brought in to save us and he managed it. Looking forward to what kind of impact he can have next season with a chance to bring in his own players.
I've already stated there is only about 6-7 players I would keep. PDC has a massive rebuilding job to do. Will he get the time to do it?
You need a bit of luck to be a winning manager, and I think PDC has brought a bit of luck with him...two great results thanks to great strikes and 2 struggling points that we huffed and puffed to get. We were down before PDC and he did just, and only just, enough to keep us up with a decimated team and a lot of average players. I'ts got to be better next season...hasn't it??????
Utter Bull bollocks...IMO. The two wins kept us up. I still have so much respect for Marty but there's not a chance in hell we'd have beat the Scum 0-3 at their place with MON in charge.
As I said on an earlier thread this week PDC got 8 points from 6 games project that over a season and you are talking around 50points (8th place). AND he did it without our top scorer and latterly without our 2nd and 3rd top scorer's - so applause from me
