Hasnt played as much as he hoped but the games he has played he has impressed and he has been chosen for the Dutch squad in the confederations cup alongside Vorm and De Guzman.

Good on him. New contract in the offing and a Dutch call up, he has really worked hard to impress.
It's easy to forget that he was released by Twente and had nowhere to go until Taylor's injury when ML spotted him. He could have ended up falling to a lower level or leaving the game altogether.
Even more impressive was the fact that he was a LB who ended up covering for rangel due to Davies' meteoric rise.

A class act who deserves everything he gets because he's earned it. <applause>

Both Rangel & especially Davies can take a great deal of pride in saying they have kept a member of the Dutch squad out of the team.

Hopefully this can be an example that will attract top quality players wanting to break through into international squads. Only England being the exception! Still choose to play anti football.
