Only a relatively new member but I have to say a fantastic cheers to Ron. Does his absolute utmost to ensure this forum runs smoothly and is one of the reasons its growing so rapidly with a good reputation. He constantly interacts with everybody and is a credit to the horse racing aspect of Not606. Keep up the excellent work and I know I say it from everybody that your work is very much appreciated
I don't know what brought that on but thanks anyway ROTO. I see you're a Sheff Utd fan. You must pop over to the Wycombe forum for a chat there sometime. We're a friendly bunch.
Is this the home of League 1 sides then? Very strong side (Chesterfield) in L2 Nass. You must pop over to Wycombe also for some friendly banter. Let us know if your squad has been strengthened and tell us how you think you'll do this year.
I thought your team was Arsenal WF. Brighton, I regard as my second home (although never lived there).
Totally agree - the old 606 was really good but could also be very frustrating, childish and lacking a bit of leadership to steer it away from those things. What we have here is all the best bits of 606 without the bad and i feel this is somewhat to do with Ron having the right personality to nudge it in the right direction whilst keeping everyone on side. I would also add whoever put the site together has improved on 606 greatly. I was reflecting the other day how Ron must be pleased with how its all going as are we all i feel. Just out of fun and mischief the other day i nearly signed up under a new name of Arklesupreme just to imagine Ron's face when he saw it and prepared for it all to go down the pan again.
Actually I wonder what did happen to him. There's a challenge. Can anyone find out where he is posting these days? I asked Tanya and she didn't know.
Arkle was'nt all bad, he just had this thing whereby it would be ok as long as everyone recieved him the way he wanted and played by he's rules, sadly he had a personality that could start a punch up when in a lift on his own. He lacked all humility and self awareness and brought out the worst in others ensuring it all got silly because everyone was communicating from their worst rather than best. This side of him apart seemed like a decent guy. You know when you were going through Eddie's bets the other day Ron, you did'nt find any tote place suggestions did you ? just a thought
They are my number one team Ron, share a season ticket with a mate of mine. But brighton is my home town and do go and see a few games and now especially with a new staidum, in the championship and spending some money. Although Arsenal are my acutal team, am excited and want brighton to do well!
I saw that Brighton have that new stadium - but what happened to the old one (Withdean wasn't it?) That can't have been too old itself, as I can remember going to the old Goldstone Ground - my first away match following Sheffield Wednesday, early 1980's ...................... was the Withdean run down or no longer fit for purpose?
Withdean was never fit for purpose it was an athletic ground that they had to use, dreadful it was too. A long way to go to get soaked in a rain storm!!
Never been to the football ground as only went in the summer. Race track yes, greyhound track, yes and pretty much everywhere else, especially Hove (King Alfred swimming pool, West End Cafe, Crazy Golf, Devils Dyke). I suppose it's all changed now.
