    Credit where credit is due.

Ashley has changed the face of the club and, ultimately it must be said, for the better. We are full of young exciting players, low wages, low ego's, spirit.

Pardew is doing a fantastic job with what he has at his disposal, the way he was encouraging on the side lines yesterday was brilliant, at one point i saw his mouth to jonas "Brilliant, ****ing brilliant son".. I'll be the first to say it.. "I ****ING LOVE PARDEW"

Carr is the key man behind the scenes in player recruitment which allows us to spend low but get great quality..

    I applaud you all!

Pardew shouting compliments was caught multiple times, he said it to Obertan and Ba. Great to see, he comes off as a top bloke and I feel guilty for ever dreading his appointment! I'll be second to say "I ****ING LOVE PARDEW!"

Not forgetting Ben Arfa, Best, Marveaux and Abeid (and a few others) who he has plucked from obscurity.

I was proved right, Parker was ONCE AGAIN exposed by Tiote. The most over rated player in the Premier League...working hard does not make you a good player, if that was the case, Ji Sung Park would be WPOTY, every year.

Well done Newcastle, true team spirit and class. Redknapp could learn a lot from you lot, instead of sulking on deadline day when Levy tells him he can't have another £700m to spend on crap.

    Also, Coloccini was superb yesterday.

Pardew is doing one hell of a brilliant job, and his scouting setup has got us fantastic value for money, but I just can't start praising Ashley as I trust him about as far as I could throw him.

He's turned St James' Park into one massive advertising board for his company but more importantly I feel sure that in January when bids come in for our best players, well guess what? We'll have promises that they will be replaced in the summer with all of the £30m or £40m he gets for them.

I might be cynical but I feel Ashley wants us just above relegation.

But Salute Alan Pardew, even if he defends Ashley all the time.

Hardly plucked Ben Arfa from obscurity, he's always been one of the most well-known young talents in world football. Marveaux had high renown in France but not beyond.

To be fair you make a couple of good points, but Ashley wanting us just above relegation? Nah, he isn't stupid, he knows European football means more money and more international coverage (which means more international shirt sales - Remember John Hall's prediction that we were bought to sell shirts in Asia?)

We're going for the Carling Cup this year, without a doubt. Should we beat Blackburn (not an unreasonable expectation) then we're through to the QFs! A favorable next round draw and then why not? A SF spot is certainly within our capabilities and once you're there, anything can happen!

Absolutely. Its the easiest way into Europe and as most teams will play the kids, we have a great chance.

Really encouraged by everyone, such a feel-good vibe around the club, fans walking round town with their joie de vivre back. Love it. Pardew now has my full backing, and Carr is just awesome - we must keep this guy, just as important to the club as any of our players. Kudos to Ashley for balancing the books but sadly the man will never fully earn my respect as long as he keeps plastering signs for his tacky charv shop all over St James'.

  15. I still hate Ashley, but he's starting to help the club a bit now. He could give us more cash to spend on player, and i hope if we do finish in Europe this year, he'll realize we need more squad depth and buy us a few more players, but overall he's doing ok now. I just wish he'd ****ing know when enough is enough with the sportsdirect ****e.

Carr, Pardew and the lads is who I'm going to give almost all the credit to, Ashley, even though i hate doing it, deserves a bit of praise for buying them, but every owner knows that replacements for top class players are needed.

I'll never thank Ashley for finally doing his job properly. That is the responsibility he took on when taking on the club. You can of course say he can do as he pleases once he buys it, and you'd be correct. But for me its not like any other business. Simply because you have a kind of shareholder in the fans. Although he owes none of us anything in that its his business, I must admit I view football and other sports unique in that you have this unwritten responsibility in terms of the loyal fans. He cocked it all up to begin with and things trundled badly along but the last year or so things have been done in a much more professional manner. There is still the odd gripe but a character like Ashley will always cause controversy, its in his ego. Hence he is hated in business circles.

Pardew and Carr deserve great credit for the job so far but it's still very early days for Pardew and he needs time. I have no doubt some sections would be on his back if we went on a horror run. If we did and got relegated I still wouldn't sack him because he needs a minimum 3 years in the job to make it his own. I'm happy with his work so far but it is the job he is being well paid to do. The point I'm making is I wouldn't go pissing up his back just yet, and equally I wouldn't go judging him harshly if we had a bad run. Early days in management terms for me. Mind you not in modern management terms!!

Carr is slightly different. They don't get the same sort of money scouts, and he has actually been doing his job to an exceptional standard, probably way above what can be expected. He deserves the thanks and the job he has done is a bit special.

Dont know how much we have in the kitty but bringing in Pieters and a striker in January would certainly make us a lot stronger and have real quality in the squad set up.
Great spirit and fight back against Spurs well done lads.

Pieters, Ridgewell(!), a back up CM and another striker and we have a top quality squad, especially if we add a few more Abeid-esque youngsters.

This would pad the squad out nicely! Not sure we need another CM atm until guthrie and smudger leave at the end of the season but would not complain if we got someone like fredy guarin from porto in
