Well now he has done it, the record is his and he is a LEGEND, I thoroughly applaud and congratulate him, Big John is still my all time HERO.... please log in to view this image Record Breaker please log in to view this image Congratulations City on a thumping good 4-1 victory... Louis Carey became Bristol City's record appearance maker as the Robins trounced fellow strugglers Stevenage. The Robins were 2-0 up after 12 minutes, through Greg Cunningham's header and Sam Baldock's tap-in. Baldock turned provider when he teed up Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to slot home, and the ex-Ipswich forward got his second with a brilliant solo effort. Francois Zoko smashed in a consolation, before Carey came on for a record 646th Bristol City appearance. Carey, who registered only his fourth appearance of the season, replaced midfielder Simon Gillett to captain the side for the final three minutes and in the process surpassed John Atyeo's previous club record. The 36-year-old, who was cheered with his every touch of the ball, made his Robins debut in a 1-0 defeat by Blackpool in 1996. City remain 21st despite the victory, while Stevenage drop a place to 23rd after Crewe's surprise win at Colchester. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25482410
It was interesting his interview with talk sport the other day....the manager he learnt most from, was no other than SOD.....How weird is that? Louis may not have been our greatest player, but 100% deserves his achievement for the club.....

'reasonable threads to do with the match, result nothing interest' I didn't want to put a downer on Carey but Wiz if I have to comment : Thought coming on in the 87th minute demeaned J A's record.
R/p, it's all about opinions and I respect yours, I did mention Big John is still my all time HERO but I honestly admire Louis and wish him all the luck....
Wish Louis had started a game to break the record of the great man...Louis, however, has been a fantastic servant to our club & deserved to break the record, great man who will always stop & have a chat..."there's only one Louis Carey"
If football had more careys it would be in a far better state. Sadly did not see him get his achievement but the man has been a true legend and bristol city through and through. Full respect to him.
