http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35546090 Well done fans for protesting so visibly and also the owners for taking it on board so quickly. Now let others follow. The removal of the "category" games price supplement or variation is the most significant move for me and the removal of this unwelcome price hike at all clubs should be outlawed by the Premiership and Football League
I guess it is all about supply and demand. Every business will charge what the market will stand and they know that. I doubt if their overall income will change. I believe the issue about away fans is more important but there again if a home team can sell all its tickets why should it provide cheap away tickets ? It indicates that financial fair play has lead to a situation in which the greatest amount of income does not come from the gate.
A very effective form of demonstration..particularly towards the end of a match. Much better than a boycott. I thought the tennis ball demo in Germany was a good one too....... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35464102
Here's an interesting stat With the new TV deal next season every Premier League club could let every fan (home and way) into the ground for free to all matches, and still have more income than they have now - mind boggling!! I'm in favour of a maximum of £25 for all away tickets
Staggering. But the sobering fact is that the gulf between the Premiership and the rest of English football continues to grow wider year by year. It will reach a point where clubs that get relegated from the EPL will have so much more money thrown at them than the likes of QPR and Burnley got this year, that promotion back to the top flight the following year will almost be guaranteed with little effort. That's bad news for us and any other team with aspirations of top flight football.
