Great start for him - heard him interviewed on Talksport - even the presenters said it was was like talking to GJ
This is the first I heard of him becoming a manager! I can see him being a decent manager. Not only has he spent a lot of time working under his father, he's also got the same kind of mentality as GJ. If he can add something new to the table then he could be the man to keep Oldham up. However, I cannot help but feel that it is far too early for LJ to enter management, especially when his experience of football is limited to just the UK. He was never the most tactically aware player, so I think he would have greatly benefited from a Brendan Rodgers style spiritual journey around Europe and South America to see how the rest of the world plays football, and to build his own ideas and tactical knowledge.
'He was never the most tactically aware player' Junior was utterly useless bar one thing - his brain. He knew what to do but didn't have the ability strength and pace to go with it. Just killed Marv in the process. However he just might be ok as a manager.
He was one of our better midfielders, and the second he left we felt it. He deserved far better than what our fans gave him He could follow instructions extremely well, which is why GJ loved playing him, and why Nigel Clough wanted him at one point. He was the perfect player for a manager because you knew you could count on him to do your bidding. He was perfectly capable, but was out of his depth when he was targeted or when things got desperate.
