FIFA and UEFA should never allow these greedy bastards anywhere near professional football ever again FC Sion sack nine players for reportedly not taking pay cut because of coronavirus crisis 20 Mar From the sectionEuropean Football please log in to view this image Former Arsenal player Alex Song (left) and Johan Djourou (right) are among those sacked by Sion Swiss Super League side FC Sion have sacked nine players who reportedly refused to sign an agreement for a wage cut during the coronavirus crisis.
It's ridiculous really when you see names in that list like Song, Djourou and Doumbia who will have all earned a fortune in their careers - it's not like they're on a pittance. Contrast that to Daniel Stendal who has told Hearts not to pay him at all so that they afford to pay other staff. I'd like to think that the very least footballers do is take a cut that means the non footballing staff don't have to lose money or their jobs.
At first I thought you were criticising the club for sacking them but then realised what you meant we should of learnt by now the greed of some footballers but there is always some twat gives them another chance.
I was half expecting to see at least two of our former players named, given I never follow their careers/clubs etc once they've left..
