We've often lambasted the FA for being inept and out of touch with the modern game but occasionally they do something right. It's nice to see that the gesture from Peter Reid of selling his FA Cup medal to help towards paying Plymouth players wages has been reciprocated by the FA who are going to print a replacement for him. Well done to the FA for this act of generosity. Now; what about this introduction of modern technology...
It's a pity the FA hadn't stepped in to help Plymouth in the first place and Reid wouldn't have had to sell his medal.
This. Nice gesture by the FA and Reid seems like a thoroughly decent bloke. Now if they could only do something about his ****ing ears!!!
It's not always so easy for the FA to help clubs though. They'd have nowt left if they helped every club that was financially up **** creek. It's a shame like, because a lot of good clubs go belly up and its only really the fans that suffer in the long run.
I've got a lot of time for monkies heed. hes one of the games true characters thats never really been big headed (in a personality sense at least). The FA can't just pick and choose the 'nice' clubs they'd like to help out. its all or none and thats just not an option.
