I just wanted to say well done to Bobby Zamora.Ever since last season's play-offs,he has worked his socks off for the team.He set up the winner for Charlie in the second leg against Wigan, and then scored that momentous goal in the final. This season he has worked tirelessly for the team, carrying on although in obvious pain.He has aided Charlie in getting his 13 goals,by getting him the space he requires. The other night epitomised what he is all about, holding up the ball, bringing other players into the game and dragging the opposing defenders this way and that.We all know his hip doesn't enable him to complete many games, but while he's on the pitch he gives his absolute all.If every member of our squad followed his lead,we wouldn't be in the position we are! Well done Bobby.
Junior and Littlelegs makes me think I've just gatecrashed a midget convention (sorry - just playing - ignore me). I do like BZ. I have a feeling I've given him some stick (when he didn't like football for example) but have always thought he added a lot through his selfless work ethic and as an outlet.
Great player....always been a big fan of him. Worked hard even when carrying an injury. I am always surprised by how how skilful he is with the ball on the ground too. We don't see much if that but he has great ball control.
He scored a great goal, and had that one amazing run down the left wing close to full length of the pitch near the end, where he looked to be giving everything he had to get to a clearance first and then sprint past an opposition player on the side line. Then unlike one or two who play out there, he didn't lose the ball, but moved it to a better placed colleague. And this was after he'd played pushing 90 minutes with his dodgy hips.
Fast becoming a QPR hero.....not just for his superb winner at Wembley, forever ingrained in our memories, but for the constant effort to do well for the team despite personal pain and suffering. He recognises he is not the most talented but he certainly makes up for it in effort. It was great to see him play a full 90 mins on Tues, I hope he doesn't overdo it and get himself injured for the rest of the season. We should agree beforehand a set amount of time for Bobby to play (70 mins) and then sub him with fresh legs from the bench.
When he first came he didnt really do himself justice - but since he came on against Bolton last season after being out for a while, he has been much more impressive. Austin definitely benefits for playing alongside him
"Oh, Bobby Z is magic, he wears a magic hat, he plays for Queens Park Rangers, he's such a lovely chap, He scores with his right foot, he scores with his left...........and when we play at Wembley............................. He scores with no time left.....................oh..................................."
