SUNDERLAND forward Amad Diallo has won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month award for the Championship for December.

Amad, who is on a season-long loan at the Stadium of Light from Manchester United, scored three goals in the month, including an outstanding 30-yard strike in a 4-1 win away at Wigan Athletic.

Diallo received 35 per cent of the public vote to win December’s award, beating fellow nominees Ross Stewart (Sunderland), Chuba Akpom (Middlesbrough), James McAtee (Sheffield United), Viktor Gyökeres (Coventry City) and Iliman Ndiaye (Sheffield United).

'Has a future' - Sunderland loanee Amad sent encouraging message about his Manchester United career

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo has been told that he has a bright future at Old Trafford as he continues to shine on loan with Sunderland.

Amad Diallo has scored seven goals for Sunderland this season.
Having joined 'United from Atalanta in January, 2021 for a fee potentially rising to €40million with add-ons, the Ivory Coast international was handed early opportunities in the first team by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He was sent on loan to Rangers last season and temporarily signed for the Black Cats this summer.

Despite struggling in the Scottish Premiership and taking a little while to adjust to life in the Championship, he has dazzled at the Stadium of Light and beyond. Amad has netted seven goals in 22 outings for the club and he was also named as 'Championship Player of the Month' for December.

Wes Brown was asked about forward Amad as part of a promotion for Casinos En Ligne. In that interview, the former 'United and Sunderland defender said: "Amad Diallo has a future at Manchester United. He'll get another chance, whether it's in pre-season or at the beginning of next season. It's all about ability and a little bit of luck with the big teams. You can see that he's got talent and he's done really well at Sunderland, so now it's about showing whether or not he can push past the current players at Manchester United.

"He will definitely get another chance there."

This is copied from the editorial above, and it included both pictures shown . . . . I decided to leave them both on in case they're related (it's (the second picture) golfer, Paige Spiranac)

This is great news for the lad but, selfishly, I think it's even better news for Sunderland. The Ekwah singing showed that we're becoming a beacon for young ambitious players. Amad will go back to Man Utd praising our club, our staff and our supporters. I doubt Ekwah really has a clue about us but he's been painted a great picture by people he knows at the club.

We've always had the stadium, AOL and the right facilities but it was previously like a supergym being used by idiots off the street who don't know how to use the equipment ...

... we're now attracting people who want to excel and Amad is just the start.

What a great time to be a Sunderland supporter.

Manchester United youngster Amad has confirmed he is enjoying his football on loan at Sunderland in the Championship.

Amad, 20, signed for Sunderland on a season-long loan in August and his performances have impressed United club staff since Tony Mowbray's appointment at the Stadium of Light, which has seen him become an integral first-team member.

The Manchester Evening News reported in November that Amad was one of the players that United had the option to recall in the January window if they wished, but Erik ten Hag recently admitted he was reluctant to halt his progress.

The loanee was named man of the match for his performance and he reflected on his time with Sunderland after the game. "Yeah I missed a chance in the first half, but today was not an easy game. The important thing was the three points," Amad said.

"A lot, a lot [enjoying his football]. I enjoy every game. Every match is not easy, but we try to win every game."

Amad is contracted at Old Trafford until the summer of 2025.

The more I see of Anthony at Man Utd the more I think Amad will be in their first team next year.

A player who comes and commits to a team in a lower league, even one our size, shows his parent club he has the right attitude. All the more when he openly takes responsibility in a team about as young as him.

Well done Amad, you'll go a long way.

What this lad has gone through has been nothing short of sensational.

I don't care wherever he lands up I will follow his career and wish him nothing but the best of bestest.
    He has been a revelation.
Apart from his skills he seems to be a young man who appreciates his worth in life. A role model to follow

The kid is honestly one of the best players I’ve ever seen at the SOL, and that’s not just in our side. He’s got the potential to be a superstar.

Can't see why Man Utd wouldn't be starting him a lot next season. Shame.

Bennette, Lihadji, Ba…those could be outstanding next year when fully fit and with a bit more understanding of our game.

I also think Dajaku will be much improved.

They could indeed, we dont know, but they should get their chance.
I cant remember who it was but many years ago a manager said that the ideal for a football team was to buy one player that was better what you had and to introduce at least one of your own young players who were expected to be at least as good as what you had in the first team each season. The intention being to refresh the team on a rolling basis every 5 to 6 years.
I dont think that we are yet at that point and we may need to acquire more players than we can develop for a couple of years but I would much prefer this approach to throwing out the baby with the bath water and buying a whole new team.
It may take longer to get to where we want to be but it should retain the fantastic team spirit that we have developed and to be honest I much prefer the football that this team tries to play to the attritional scrambling for points tactics some teams employ
Think it's time to just enjoy the ride and see where we go, we might get lost sometimes but as long as we see a team trying to play football, like we are at the moment, I'm more than happy to go along with it

One of my worries is the effect it may have on the team when their team mates are sold after having a very close bond with each other. Also they might not want to leave this team, I wouldn’t <laugh>
