The big walk will be fun. 5 flights of stairs to the top. So who will admit to using the lift then ? ;)

Well done on the price Newcastle. :emoticon-0103-cool:

Those prices might well be down to the ridiculous stairs and the fact that you need binoculars to see the game from the away end.

Its a sorry state of affairs when people are posting well done cos the price is "only" £27.

Should be £15 the norm and I'd love to see a club take the stance with its players saying publicly "youre getting 15k a week max cos we want to offer our fans some respite from big bills in hugely difficult economic circumstances". If they do it right with the perfectly pitched publicity the whole of the country would applaud them for it.

    Why shouldnt it be us?

Works in Germany for all but the mega big clubs.

Football is financially fooked around the whole continent. Even the clubs that do spend havent got any money. If 95% of the clubs collectively said NO - we're not risking our future to pay salaries we cant afford - then there is only a finite number of places at clubs who will pay big money and therefore players will be forced to accept lower wages. It also reduces the need for clubs to stretch themselves to match what their neighbours are paying. Im sure the vast, vast majority of clubs would want to do this, they just all have to do it together and stick to it. It wouldnt be long before players come back cap in hand when the clubs paying big money say they dont want them.

This^the money thing is what takes the shine off us being a top flight club for me. Iv'e always loved the game and always longed for us to get here, but the fact players can earn £200k a week, just puts shame on the sport, and i find it very hard to ignore.

Believe me when i say,the last thing i want,is for a filthy rich billionaire to buy us and fund a premier league title/europe conquering side inside a few years,as has happened at Man city or Chelski. Where is the sense of achievement in that ? How could we feel any pride ? If that were to happen,i'd be forced to pack it in and join Mussy at Ferriby.

There are too many people struggling to get by in this world,to believe that someone can earn so much money for basically having fun(which is what footballers are doing really),is acceptable. In fact were honest,it's sick.

It's a free market though, it's all about demand and supply.

If you look at the audience figures over the season football attracts as many viewers as top Hollywood movies and so our top players would argue they deserve Hollywood salaries. The problem there is that there are an awful lot of players who are paid high salaries that patently aren't worth it.

Football as the older fans remember it, is gone forever, there is only a false association between players and fans now. I'm afraid someone has stolen our National Working Class Game and is flogging it for every penny it can and nobody in power gives a ****.

Even if the fans did boycott matches, there would always be someone to take their place. Usually some minted tourist. Sad but true.

To rub salt into the wounds, prices of travel fares are going up as well. Train fares are sky rocketing.

As for the wage structure- i 100%, and it's hard to emphasise with some players who don't give their all for 90 minutes, and who whinge constantly.

The only way it you'd get the FA & the Premier League to realist there's something wrong is if a massive club went bust, and thus hurting their credibility. If Man Utd went bust that would hurt their foreign markets. They'd have to re-think all that crap about it being the greatest league in the world.

There are only the sections in standing areas in Germany which are really cheap. Sitting behind the goals at Bayern, Dortmund, Hamburg and others are about £35, down the sides over £70. And of course the powers that be don't want, and neither do many of our insipid fans, anything supposedly dangerous like people standing, even though it is safe and is the one thing that enables some cheap prices. Nor do they want the things that make the atmosphere so good, large flags, smoke flares, alcohol allowed in the seats etc...
So they want the low prices in some areas and the atmosphere without actually allowing the things that bring them about.

Think you have to be actually in the Premier League to welcome somebody else to it. Sad.

Any thoughts on the prices of cinema tickets, festival ones, nightclubs, the price of ice cream, washing machines and other items?

Nightclubs - £2 at the very most
Ice Cream - Varies on amount you buy don't it?
Washing Machines - don't know the average price, so couldn't comment

You're up top but you have a good view anyway lads. We have a great stadium. It's also a great day out if you're staying in the area. A lot of clubs have stadiums in the middle of no where. Ours in right next to the city with a **** load of pubs, clubs, shops and other stuff. It can be a great day out for you.

I have had some good nights in Newcastle, I once left a mates restaurant at 3.00am and was staggering back to my hotel. Two lads walked up to me as I was crossing a bridge, I was thinking about how much cash I had on me and how quickly I could get my watch off, when one of them said 'wanna chip mate'. <laugh>
