So after the excellent second half performance against Blackpool and more importantly the change in formation and personnel, we could now be seeing a new era of more attacking and fluid football. From the rigid 4-4-2 to the more attacking 4-3-3 using Taylor, Nouble & Murphy with Didsy playing in the hole just behind al la Eric Gates perhaps? Mick has already intimated that this is an option that he will be considering and he is not stupid he knows that we have lacked potentcy in the final third. I think Hyam should be rested for a while and Hunt will do a great job for us in a more attacking role. What do you think and how would you like to us line up against Leicester?
I hope we go 4-3-3 again against Leicester, not only is it more exciting but it will probably take them by surprise, scouting ITFC from an opposition perspective will have not have been that difficult of late; MM plays 4-4-2 end of.....we might get away with a change in tactics for a few weeks & get some wins in the bank..!
Absolutely agree Warky & Hoppers. We have been to predictable of late, so lets welcome the new fresh team on the park from the off and see if we can get a rhythm and consistency going....note try too many experiments. Didsy is a diamond geezer..so lucky to have him. What versatility.
No doubt in my mind mick will line up 442, and if we go behind will switch to 433. He only ever described it as a 'what if' scenario so can't see him lining up with it. Either way it's very refreshing knowing we have something up our sleeves!
I would love for Mick to do it but I just don't see it. There have been a few games under Mick where he's gone a bit more adventurous and you think perhaps he's changed his mind but then he usually reverts back to type. He might to it but IMO it's very unlikely, especially as we would have our 4 strikers on the pitch, meaning Alan Lee would be our only striker available on the bench. Plus Leicester are near the top, Mick will be pleased with a point (as will I) but when you know he's happy with a point he'll set up first and foremost not to get beat.
Sadly, I suspect both Wrighty & PTC will be right, but you never know! I am sure Taylor must get a start tho.
