Yes. Looks sensible at £60M better than Lukaku's mindless £100M .

hope he signs sooner and help Tony with the herculean task of retaining the title.

True. This morning there were reports stating Roman wont pay over the odds for Morata. Perfect fee.

Tbh Bonucci deal brought the needed correction to the market.

Manu trying to do their best to price out other clubs by their mindless wasting of £ like their Alex days.

I just think this bloke will be a good fit, and at the price a far better deal than Lukaku. Some of the Spanish pundits are saying he is an intelligent player and capable of doing a holding job as well as scoring although not prolific. He has pace so will be a threat on the counter and the biggest plus for me is he is 24yrs old and former Juventus, so Conte will know all about him and his potential, deal of the summer for me.

Seems Conte also signed a new contract. Morata was always Contes choice so maybe Roman has had to back Conte over Emanalo.
In truth, I have seen very little of Morata, he's obviously good, but not 1st choice at Real. That said, I was against Lukaku at the money Utd paid, so Morata looks a great buy and maybe a great fit for Contes' plans.
We're still short a back up for Luiz and attacking power in midfield from where I sit.

I think midfield is fine. Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Pedro, Willian, Hazard.

I think we've done well this window. We've brought in players all through the spine of the team and all young (except willy who is only ever going to be back up).My only criticism is how many youth players we've let go.

As much as I'd love to have seen an Aguero or Augameyeng, both are nearly 30 and would not have represented good value in that respect. We will see Morata's best years.

Conte never actually coached him at Juventus, he did sign him though but he took the Italy job straight after.

Anyways I think this is a good signing for Chelsea, having had your deal for Lukaku hijacked you've probably got the next best available striker.

As has already been said before Aubamayeng and Aguero wouldn't have represented good value for money considering their age.

I think the Morata v Lukaku arguments and debates are going to run and run given what's happened this summer.

Could be the new Gerrard v Lampard.....<laugh>

They probably will. As it happens I think both clubs have got good strikers. I think we'll have to wait and see who gets the most goals, as it's all just hot air at this stage.

I'm in the Lampard camp on that debate. But neither where a patch on Scholes <laugh>

I didn't say he did I said "he would know all about him". As to why he signed him and his Juventus insider information.

You just repeated what was in the papers, likely written by a Chelsea fan to try and justify what happen. You forget Chelsea bid for Lukaku after Man United agreed a deal with Everton so you had no other option but to pay £70 million for Morata
