A match made in heaven. Hopefully you can save city from relegation. A manager that i have admired from the Bournemouth days. Brilliant appointment.
Good choice but it will still take a miracle to save us this season. Improved performances, better squal morale, culling the dead wood, and a clean sheet should be high on the list of wants right now. Build for the future
He wasn't my first team choice, but I am happy the board has made a decision quickly. Hopefully they'll throw their full support behind the new manager and will provide funds for him to vastly improve the team this season. Until then, the fans need to back the manager through thick and thin, even if SOD leads us into League 1. Good luck SOD. You're going to need it!
Happy to have a manager that knows this division. Very positive move to act so quickly by the board and get our man before Blackpool nabbed him. Restores my faith that maybe we are a bigger club, waiting to throw off the years of disinterest in the West Country. I am happy to leave the team selection and tactics to him. Only positive posts from me for the rest of the season
SOD it ! Lets hope he starts by bringing in some PROPER DEFENSIVE PLAYERS To get O'Driscal in that quickly suggests that discussions had been going on behind the scenes for weeks, mostly behind Del's back. Maybe that would account for a few of the abismal displays by some players if they got word of this
I'm not so sure, he mentioned in his interview that the club is a better fit for him now than it was when he interviewed for the job before we gave it to Del. Probably didn't take much pursuading if he was interested last time and has a good feel about the club.
I did say and hoped a few months ago that the board would have prepared for the inevitable (Del being booted) and fair shout to them, this seems to be the case. I imagine it had to be done quickly because it gives at least a little time if the new manager (SOD) wants to bring some players in before the deadline. Not my first choice but I feel could be a good choice especially the way he likes to play football, which has been lacking at the gate for years.. I'm quite surprised it's only a rolling year contract though...not great for planning ahead, but we shall see. Which ever way we look at it, He knows the championship inside out which has to be a massive positive compared to Del. I must admit, I feel so much better with him in charge........Good luck that man!!
Pretty obvious that this was a done deal before Saturday, DM was going whatever happened against Leicester, he had already turned down Barnsley, and then Blackpool, because he new he already had this job. On paper a good signing by the club, very good footballing manager, needs to get a few in, because i can't see him saving our season with some of these players, good luck Sean O'Driscoll.
Makes you wonder if the board had been in touch with him in recent weeks?........baptism of fire for him though.
Sounds like you've got a proper manager at last. Like us your board acted quickly. Might be too late for this season but he should get you sorted the following season.
The board have gone and recruited a proper championship manager, yes not cheap, but generally you get what you pay for. I think the majority of fans will be very happy with the appointment, the board cannot be accused of cheap skating, or taking a cheap option. I really believe this is a manager that can put football back in the club.you look at Bournemouth,Donny,Forest fans the majority rate him and give him good reviews, many Forest could not believe he was sacked,as did the football world. Really happy, lets get the pride back into Bristol City FC.
Just hope the board and SOD sort something out if the worst happens..very happy with the appointment though..Now to get rid of half of the players!
I also have faith in S O'D getting us back in the Championship at the first attempt if he can't save us this season.
If City fail to avoid the drop, which lets be honest at the moment appears inevitable, I believe Sean O'Driscoll is the perfect manager to bring us straight back up next season...so come on all true City fans, not those that leave at half-time or soon after, we can do without them...get behind the team & the management, we enter another episode in our history, with some of our young players coming through, I really believe the future is a bright one...COYR's
I wouldn't hold your breath, much as I agree. A Forest fan mate of mine recons that his defensive history isn't great. Forest have a leaky defence - but they score more! I can see some nail-biting 4-3 and 5-4 games on the horizon. Lets just hope we have the bigger score!
All offenders in the I don't give a to** about wearing a City shirt that seemed to have shown their disdain vs Lester should be called in the office tomorrow and shown the video of the match and asked to explain their actions and what they were supposed to achieve. Any ums and ahs and they should be shown the door immediately.
I will support him regardless of my opinion that he is just another recycled manager in this division that won't achieve anything. Might save us from relegation, but nothing more than that year in year out. Uninspired by him, but I wish him all the luck with the **** he has. Worst interview I have ever seen though! lol
better manager than our last 2 appointed.. and if 1: we do escape relegation he deserves a knighthood with the players he has at his expense.. and 2: he certainly wouldn't put us in a relegation scrap again
QPR fan in peace Gutted to see you are bottom (like us) and hope SOD gets you going. A lot of us QPR fans enjoyed our trips to Ashton Gate and hope you guys sort it out. .
