Thats the kind of statement he would make on the United site upon leaving.
Why would he thank United fans on the Arsenal site, since it would be mostly Arsenal fans reading, not United fans, or Welsh Chelsea fans <whistle>

    Its a 50/50 thing really.
Welbeck had flashes of skill for United, like Sturridge did for us.
But a combination of never starting, and utilising tactics not suited to his skillbase seemed to keep him down (also the same as Sturridge at Chelsea).
Maybe like Sturridge, a move to a new club who will give him more starts and play to his strengths may see him blossom......or he could continue to be just mediocre.....
    Only time will tell.....

He could well be pretty pissed off with the club. He's a United boy and was desperate to be a success. I sympathise with him and whilst I never thought he was good enough to be a first team regular I'm sorry to see him go. It's always good to have local lads who actually care about the club in the squad. I hope he has a good career at Arsenal.

  13. Why would he? He's been slated from pillar to post and then forced out the club. Plus, how many players speak about their former clubs when giving their first interview at their new club?
