Seen this mentioned elsewhere so went in search...................... So far we have played 28 games and got 37 points.........................albeit a g/d of +5... Now last season after 28 games we had........................................................... Go on have a guess........................................................... Yep 37 points.....but a g/d 0f -2
Do i have to wear a grizzly adams bear hat and be covered in molten danish blue cheese (non fat of course) and yodel?
The losing streak must have kicked in a few games before we got to 28, because we were wondering where the next point's were going to come from, because relegation was certainly on a few people's mind's. I don't think 40 pts will be required to stay up this season.
http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2010-2011/table/2011-03-05 try this link, hope it work's though it does have us having played 29 games but 8th also.
It is funny how these stats come about but in all honesty, this club feels so much better today than it did at the same time last year. There is a fresh, ambitious and forward thinking ambiance about the place, whereas in March last year, the rot had already set in and we were all at each others throats every day. In Mon we have a bright future now. Under Bruce, we didn't.
i honestly think about 32/33 points is all thats needed to stay up this year, the bottom five are pretty woeful
This is what happened in the final 10 games last season 29 38 30 38 31 38 32 38 33 38 34 41 35 41 36 44 37 44 38 47
9 points from the last10 games and Bruce still thinks he did well? Were it not for the last 3 games and a WBA comeback, we would have been clinging on to the EPL by a gnats tadger.
Just done a quick work out and Bruces last 38 games (11 this season and 27 from last season) in charge would have yielded 41 points. Surprised it was that many to be honest.
... and we got to 37 points off 24 games, so that is 10 points from the last 14 games (42 points available)
We were in the middle of it rog - right in the middle!! - As Concrete tony says - this season we're in the other direction - our losing streak went from January last season until end of November this - then MON cam in and, not only steadied the ship - but repaired the holes that had it sinking by using the wood that was already there and fixing the sails as well to speed it up... We had 1 point from 10 or 11 games last season I think - and that was away to Arsenal!! Our next 2 league games are Away to Blackburn and Home to QPR - both in the bottom 5 fighting for their lives - hope for 6 points and a push on- Blackburn is never an easy place to go and they seem to be turning things around - hope we can turn them back around for at least a game (I like going to Ewood so don't mind them staying up) - as for QPR - our almost "Manager in waiting" doesn't appear to have steadied their ship yet so hopefully we'll be too strong at home for them - if the mags get beat on Saturday against Norwich we could be within a point by next weekend!! (as they don't play until the Sunday) - bet they'd be crapping themselves then
