Reflecting on being an R's fan and comparing it to others....ignoring current team, situation, manager etc. I think my basic expectation is that we are a top flight team, aren't struggling and play good football, I don't seriously expect us to win anything, that falls into the hopes/dreams category, and for me the playing good football part is most important. I reckon the expectation on teams like Norwich are a little easier - top flight survival full stop. Based on the last 40 years I reckon my expectation is fair enough, our failures in this time have all been self inflicted. Contrast this with the continual expectation to challenge the big boys for Newcastle, with barely any history to back it up. Must be continual agony.
