So a week where Big Sam earned some credibility. A week in which some felt the need to take the blame for our relegation off the slim shoulders of Bamford. A week in which small club Bournemouth start spending big money on new players for next season, whilst we dick about with fingers crossed. A week where Arteta saw his team implode and hand the title to Pep, a week we saw Leicester implode and look like joining Southampton as done and dusted. A week in which we saw the best football team in the world produce some stunning football.

A week in which one half of Milan celebrated whilst the other part wept. A week in which Barcelona took back the La Liga title they had lost whilst Real Madrid concentrated on the Champions League but broke Ancelloti’s heart A week in which Messi broke the hearts of PSG fans by going to Saudi Arabia to fill his bank account, and now looks like he will return to Barcelona. A week in which Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern look like lifting the league title after falling behind Dortmund for so long. A week in which Joffy couldn’t help Sunderland but Drameh did for Luton. A week in which it was revealed the Leeds wage bill will be reduced by £53m if we get relegated. Sounds like great contracts have been negotiated by the club.

Going back to the Bamford debate in my opinion he isnt good enough to start and hasn’t been this season or last. He’s slower and his never prolific scoring boots have been lost. He can at times play the hold up role well but he isn’t as strong as he was and can end up on his backside too many times. We failed to bring in a replacement for him and have been lucky to have been able to call on Rodrigo. There are many people to blame for this season and I include the whole board especially Victor Orta. Everyone in our defence, our French keeper, a holding midfield trio who have been ineffective or out all season or injured again. Jesse Marsch who got the players he wanted which has cost him his job. Bamford missed too many sitters this season, a man who injured himself celebrating a goal and missed more weeks of training. The Leicester sitter from a yard out cost us points and those points we didn’t get from that game will probably be the points we go down by. The penalty miss last week is easy to write off as just one of them things, however a game we should have won we only drew so more points lost when we really needed them. There was the countless times Bamford tried to move the ball onto his left only to see him tackled when it was easier to use his right and hit the target, the time he missed the ball completely, it has been countless times this season. He has never been prolific but under Bielsa he scored 16 and we got promoted and he followed that up scoring 17 which earned us 9th place in the Prem. He took all the praise and even got an England call. He was flying high and took the accolades but he followed this up by only scoring 5 and then 5 this season which isn’t what we needed and coincides with 2 pathetic seasons for the club. So actually I feel sorry for the abuse he and his family have taken but the fans with constructive “sane” criticism is well deserved.

Yet another booboo by the club:

Caprile one of best goalkeepers in Italy after leaving Leeds last summer

What a season Caprile has had. The goalkeeper has played 39 times for Bari this season, playing all but one of Bari’s 40 matches this term. When he did join, it was unsure if he would be a starter. Conceding 34, 15 clean sheets.

Not only is he pushing his Bari side towards the top tier of Italian football, his form will be generating glances from afar. Most likely, from Serie A. His form has been sensational and is deserving of a chance in Italy’s first division.

Bamford has taken 12 penalties at first team level.

    Scored 8 missed 4.

Says it all really as your no'1 spot kick taker has to be better than missing 33.33% of the time.

Last season at Brentford we all knew Raphinha would score but now if we get a chance from 12 yards it will be hit and hope whoever takes it.

Xg for a pen is roughly .8. So across all the penalty takers in the top leagues in Europe, 20% or 1 in 5 are missed.

So going by those figs, prior to this season paddy will have been close to the average. Ie you can see why he had the job for this season. Back in the real world, his confidence is shot and Rodrigo’s is high… so seemed bonkers that rod didn’t take the pen v Newcastle.

The big debate last summer was after the departure of KP and Rapha, would we be stronger with the replacements and apparently stronger squad. Answer is a resounding no. Also nobody except Rustic realised just how useless Jesse was as well

To be fair, loads of people (often heartbroken bielsa luvvies admittedly) concluded that Jessie was useless very early. Granted ‘Rustic’ was quick to form his opinion and not shy in making his feelings known on the matter <ok><laugh>

I was of the opinion we would be around top 10 this season looking at the squad assemble USA internationals, Danish, Austrian, Colombian and Italian internationals recruited. This on top of German, Spanish internationals all backed up by U21 internationals but the coaching was Shyte and the rot set in. It could be too late now….

Everybody seems to be jumping on the Marsch bandwagon, yet Leeds were rarely in relegation form during his tenure.

You’re right. He won about four games in his half season. He could have got us in cl football on that form

We weren’t in the relegation zone when he left and we only had single digit deficit goal difference. We weren’t losing heavily every game like we have since he left. We were still in the cup too. Its all gone tits up since he left and yet he still gets the blame even now. Disgraceful. Some fans should hang their heads in shame (plenty on here to be fair). They are responsible for this ****. I said to @BillysStatue at the time that he should be careful what he wishes for. He's not really been on since. I think he's following Bamford about shouting abuse at him like a proper fan.

We've only won 3 since and that includes Southampton at home and Forest at home. Both games won by only a goal. Jesse would have smashed those teams by a lot more.

Seriously though, I think we were unlucky during Marsch's stint. The amount of times we lost by just one goal - small margins...

Probably explains why he’s been inundated with job offers since

Southampton wanted him until the end of the season. The job was offered to him. Marsch wanted a longer contract.

Leicester wanted him in a similar scenario to Southampton but talks broke down.

He is due to be unveiled as the USA manager in the coming days/weeks.

You mean like individual errors by the players costing us points. Clearly the managers fault!

And to be fair, that **** has stopped happening since Jesse left.

Ellandback and Emu please answer this: what was March points per game average and then tell me it wasn’t relegation form. The man was an absolute plank his football was shyte the players he brought in were playing a brand not played before and these guys had played for him before?
