Joe Rothwell having a medical at Southampton and will join on loan from Bournemouth. That will be the 5th loan signing for Southampton. Think I’m right as Leeds have 3 loan slots available still

think that's what we will be dabbling in Doc. I don't see us signing anyone with cash but we always seem to be the last ones doing the dabbling.

Looking like of the half dozen clubs chasing Cresswell Blackburn are reported to be the only ones offering cash

Strange one really as Farke won't use him but doesn't want to lose him. He has to be on his way as he didn't even make the bench yesterday when we were struggling for numbers at the back. Surely there is more in this than him just not being mentally right.

I’d imagine we have a few outgoing options that’s making a difference between a possible signing or loan. Llorente could be going for cash, Joffy wanting away, Gnonto another possible departure, I’d imagine our first choice RB preference isn’t clear cut and maybe Farke would prefer waiting to get the main target

I’m not sure we’ll bring anyone in, Farke did say it would be a quiet transfer window.

In his pre match presser, I took it that he said because of the mental state Cresswell was in, he hadn't been training properly and wasn't Match fit and because of this he wouldn't be considered but expects he'll be training as he should from now on and had been for the last few days

Have we looked better with Ampedu at the back and Gruev in midfield during the last 2 matches ?

Personally I thought Ampedu was superb in both matches and the fact he's right footed means he could just as easily play in place of Rodon as well if needed. In fact he was so good the temptation could be to leave him there and maybe look to sign an additional midfielder.

I think you’re right about Cresswell’s mental state but I thought he said it was because Cresswell couldn’t accept he was fourth choice and believes he should be playing. I guess Farke also likes the left foot / right foot CB combination as Farke mentioned Rodon.

He definitely said he was behind Rodon and would have to accept that. Think he also said he now has to work hard and if his chance came he'll need to be ready to take it, which he's not now.

Plus Cresswell is probably now behind Ampedu as well so that makes him 5th choice.

Do you think Farke should update him on where he currently stands ?

Serves him right in my book as this should never have happened. It's one thing not being happy as 4th choice but it quite another allowing that to effect your selection prospects.

Milwall now offering cash for Cresswell too so looks like a bit of a bidding war, but if its only £4 or £5m cheap as chips

I think he very likely has already

Farke likes Gray at RB, we also have Byram and Shackleton who can play there. Farke probably wants a RB who would walk into the team and be head and shoulders above the others, if not what’s the point.

Are there better RBs yes of course, are they available and would they be willing to join, that’s another matter.

Summerville on Ayling and showing why it’s not always best to allow players to leave.

The 22-year-old said that the day that the right-back left the club was "a sad day" and added: "When I came through, he really helped me as a player, and as a human being. He was a real leader.

"Even in the last couple of games when he wasn't really involved in the squad, he was there for us, for the players, for me. You really need that personality in your team to grow."

"We're really going to miss him, but that's business. I wish him all the best, and, hopefully, I'll see him soon."
