Is there a need for one whilst Doc takes a break from the forum. We already have Ell's Breakfast debate post covering anything that happens on a Friday ( as well as the ones posted throughout Monday to Thursday) Saturday is normally match day, so any new issues that are not posted on Fridays breakfast Debate will probably be raised there instead. Eire is posting the articles covered by the Atheletic as and when he considers them to be noteworthy. Surely if anyone has something of significance to post that doesn't fit into an already existing thread, then they could always start a new thread in respect of that topic. Surely when Doc returns he will be eager to return to posting some great articles (even if I don't always agree with them, I do enjoy reading them, and trying to discuss them ) As Sniffer would say at the end of every thread he creates, whats everyones thoughts ?
Of course we need a weekend debate which is why we need Doc back asap to get it sorted in his own inimitable fashion. Don’t get me wrong here as elland does an amazing job with his breakfast debates but Doc takes it to a whole different level on the weekends. Which is why we should keep them going in his absence as otherwise it looks like they weren’t appreciated. Just my opinion of course.
I agree that yes we need Doc back on to continue with his Weekend Debate posts. Does not continuing it mean that we are not appreciative of his work, or are we honouring the fact that none of us can actually replace him when its comes to the Weekend Debate, although there have been a few imitators. Doc reads a lot of football news from various sources in his normal course of the day. I rely upon here for most of my news. To not only sift through various click bate sites looking for something interesting to write, but then being able to actually make an article from "your" own words to keep it interesting, is an art in itself. I'd prefer not to have anything in replacement of that, as opposed to someone just copying and pasting snippets from various sites. I'd rather read an interesting thread well put together, that can generate discussion, rather than just bits of news taken from around the web, with no opinion, just for the sake of continuation. Obviously if there is someone out there with both the time and the skill to put something like that together, then excellent, but I dont think you should be trying to "press gang" posters just to fill a void See Jammy we are having a discussion following my well put together thread
Do we need the weekend debate? Probably not but it's nice to have. It's like those trainers I bought earlier today. I've got over 30 pair. I didn't need them but it's nice to have.
For those that don't remember there was many an argument over posters commenting on the Match day thread about other stuff and taking it off topic. Doc's regular weekender threads solved all of that.
Then I guess you have volunteered as the stand in then Jammy, seeing as you are so keen on keeping the tradition going. No need to ask anyone else I've at least had my turn
Donald duck never wears trousers but when he gets out of the shower he wraps a towel around his waist. What's that all about?
Poveda starting for Sheff Wed tonight. Technically still our player but with his contract up at the end of the season he's expected to sign a permanent deal with Wednesday in the summer.
Sorry. Is it just me but did anyone else think Doc’s exit from the forum was all a bit wussy drama queen stuff. Liked his posts but if you’ve had enough just stop. Bit flouncy.
And that’s his level, despite what some want to dispute, a bottom level championship player. Nothing wrong with that as he still earns multiples of what I do
That might be us if we don’t get promoted this season or next. Anyway we’ll be fine because everyone loves the Championship.
Yeah would be a handy player to have if we don’t go up and envitably lose Summerville, Rutter, Gnoto & James.
