Yo motherfuckers, welcome to the match thread for this botanical battle between Leeds, three times Champions of England, and... er... Nottingham Forest. Elland Road 19:45 Tuesday 20th March No major changes to the team needed for me; it's performing well enough as it is. Maybe put Pugh in for Brown if he's looking knackered. Will Neil Warnock finally help to slay the curse of the midweek evening match? Even at Hull, we looked fairly dejected and knackered, so let's hope there's a bit more energy about us for a team that have a big chance of being safe if they win this and jump ahead of the wee Wall. Cool story: Forest have the third worst goal difference in the league with -22. COME ON UNITED!
Lets hope we thump em. I notice cross board threads have been stopped. Think this has something to do with the Gen chat lads posting something on the Liverpool board. Its a shame as it brought some genuine banter & different opinions, lets hope its sorted soon. 3-0 Leeds
Yeah I could see a comfortably victory after saturdays disappointment (more by the fact that my ball and chain is a West Ham fan) I'll also go with 3-0. Becchio (2) and Snodgrass. It's generally true about a Tuesday nights. Yet wasn't it a Tuesday when we beat them by 4 away from home?
Hull 4-1 and Forest 4-0 have been some of the best performances and results this season so i am not concerned about the midweek factor. A win is a must and with Forest not playing at the weekend that could have an impact on the performance levels of the respective teams.
It could be argued that the Forest 4-0 was related to Gary Speed dying just before and the Hull 4-1 was a pretty average performance with some decent attacking and some diabolical Hull defending/goalkeeping thrown in. I still think there's a midweek fatigue/apathy from the players that needs to be conquered.
There was nothing impressive about your performance against Hull, the score merely reflected the fact that Peter Gulacsi got confused and thought he was playing for Leeds. He's a young Hungarian who lives in Liverpool and plays for Hull, it's easy to get confused in those circumstances.
So who's going tonight? After 33,366 on Saturday for the visit of West ham, will we be back to our usual 21,000 for the visit of Forest? What caused the 33k v West Ham? Was it always on the cards, and Bates and Warnock played it up knowing that a lot of poeple had targeted that game since the start of the season, or was it built up by Warnock to develop such a crowd in short notice? Whatever, I will be sat in my usual L28 seat listening to the scraping of the church mice and dropped needles. Thanks Ken
