We've got a lot of worrying injuries. We've just been stuffed by a decision when the lads have given their all. Now we've gotta do it all again on Wensdee against a strong squad. With a far more important game on Saturday against Sunland to think of. It could be a heavy defeat with a young team put out for it. Sunland have got their tails up now after the win today. Its a huge game Saturday and one we need to win and we need all our best players fit for it not wasted on a COC game. How many ressies can SB play on Wensdee?
Forgot to post this now it makes sense
Honestly, i'd rest every one of our 25 man squad. While it would be nice to progress in the league cup, the game on Saturday is vastly more important.
All good points. It'll be hard to find a balance between resting the better players and not getting humiliated.
McLean, Prozzy, Gedo, Quinn, Dudg, eeerrrm.....and Henderson might come in. I wouldn't want to play too many young lads. Cenner back is a struggle. Maybe the Jak will play.
Fryatt should get another chance too although that doesn't exactly help as we've already got three other spare strikers to play and it's defenders we need.
Harper Rosenior Bruce McShane Dudgeon McLean Meyler Henderson Quinn Prozzy Gedo Possibility? This team will probably get beat 2/3 - 0 though
I expect half of today's squad to play. And I expect Henderson to play as well, with Fletcher on the bench at least. I honestly couldn't give a damn if we got knocked out, I wasn't bothered about this cup at all. The FA Cup is the one I would rather us go for.
Completley agree. I'd expect to see a strong-ish side put out, maybe a few players moved around to experiment. I'd also play Jakupovic in goal just in case anything happens to Harper. I don't know if Dudgeon is fit enough yet, but if he is he should play and it'd be a good time to bring Gedo in too. We'll probably lose, but extra time and penalties would be much worse.
Would definitely like the match to finish at 90 minutes. More fatigue is not what our players need at the moment.
Jak Elmo McShane Bruce Dudge Boyd Meyler Quinn Fryatt Proschwitz Gedo Despite Boyd having a great game I expect Brady to have his place back on Saturday. Same situation with Meyler and Livermore. Elmo has been far from great so far this season so I'd rest Rosie from the start to keep him fresh and maybe bring him on for Elmo in the 2nd half, but I'm assuming Aluko will be back to play on the right for Saturday. McShane is used to and can handle 3 games in a week if he has to. All 3 of those strikers need a chance and game time and this gets all 3 on the pitch at once. I'd play them as 3 strikers as well rather then the two wide forwards you usually have in a 4-3-3, have Fryatt and Gedo play in the channels and Prozzy between the centre halves but let them alternate and just go for it.
I thought you were referring to that bunch from Sheffield stuck at the bottom of the table. Which is always nice to see.
I think the lads will be chomping on the bit to get back out there after yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see too many changes actually.
Mussie Dutch OLM Erik Happy Ricardo Tickles Junior Lewis Scarborough Doveston Percy Imagine Spurs dressing room.. is that Van persie up front for Hull? dunno.. TWT...
I'd take a similar result midweek as long as we don't pick up any injuries/ suspensions. Sunderland matters more.
Japukovic will start in the cup. Too risky playing Harper with McGregor not back until December. I also expect to see some youngsters such as Max Clarke on the bench.
What about me? I have a dickie leg and I'm over eighty just right for wednesday. I was a good centre forward.
