The Mirror publishes an article about Monk missing practice and probably other things but the article was taken down...Why? because even though the info was reliable , it was from a sleazy source. An hour later , the club makes fun of the media report trying to deflect away from Tuesday's absence . Also, Monk wasn't on time on Wednesday either . About 90 minutes after that , betting odds are slashed. The club absolutely lied about Monk having " Family Matters " that were known a long time before and that's why he wasn't around Tuesday , one only has to watch Monks post game interview after the Stoke game to see that. Something stinks here , Whoever wrote that original Mirror article should be questioned about his source. Do I think Monk would have been axed if we lost to Villa , no I don't. Do I think Monk would be fired if we lost to Villa and the odds weren't slashed , I'm not so sure . Makes me wonder what the odds were when Laudrup was axed.
Makes little difference, the papers number one priority is selling papers, they revel in sleaze. My advice is don't read the papers as they have their own agenda. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pretty broad stroke of the brush there taffy jack .Id like to see Monk say he had a pre planned appointment Tuesday morn. Why would the club lie about this appointment?Someone close to the club who knew about the board wanting to bring in help for Monk and knew of the meeting when Monk probably "Stormed out" and didn't arrive for Tuesday's practice tipped off the Mirror. The mirror was threatened with a lawsuit so they took it down but it was to late , no matter how hard the club tried to make fun of it to make it go away, Odds were slashed. The club wanted to bring someone in on Laudrups staff and when Laudrup said no , he was fired for it as breach of contract , Sounds kinda similar to what. Monk was probably facing.Be nice if someone who was around Tuesday and Wednesday for practice could give a general take on things that they seen .
Does it really matter if they lied over this, at the end of the day they will look after their own interests. You are presuming too much with the ins and outs of this, we don't really know what is going on. Laudrup wasn't fired for breach of contract otherwise he wouldn't have got compensation.
I applaud Garry Monk for standing up to the club and being a no show on Tuesday and being late Wednesday.I believe there was no reference to Monk missing Wednesday , the club just spun it that way because the mirror article came out after Wednesday practice . They pretty well steered the press to it being a Wednesday absence and most of the press was fooled not really knowing much about it.Sure wish I could read that original mirror article which probably makes no reference to monk missing Wednesday practice , only that he missed a practice
I think people are reading too much into this nonsense. Having experienced bad journalism first hand and been on the end of it, my opinion of them is that calling them vermin does a disservice to rats. They either make up stories wholesale or take a grain of truth and snowball it into something it isn't. Don't trust them.
Has not any manager got a life and a private life at that besides football. Monk has his team of coaches to run the day if he has a more important issue to deal with in his private life.......What is the issue here ?
Simple , he had no prior engagement. He said he would be at practice the next day after his Monday interview and you'll never here him say he did have a prior engagement. Heres one for the future , someday years possibly from now If Monk writes a book , referring to sometime between late Monday the 19 of October till the article comes out in the mirror on Wednesday the 21 of October, there will be a part that says , and I'm future paraphrasing here " I thought I was getting sacked"
Must have been an emergency one , that's it then.An emergency dental appointment . Close the thread willya valley
Perhaps he was taking a day off as part of his statuary rights, or maybe one of his kids was ill, or maybe he was not very well and a bad case of the ****s. Or perhaps it's got sod all to do with us
"Close the thread willya valley". No way,He reserves that action for my Laudrup theme threads. It's a Pavlov's Dog reaction.
