One that catches my eye tomorrow is at KEMPTON in the 6.00 RAWAKI 3/1 Dropped down in grade here with decent apprentice up Thomas Brown I will take him to get his head back in front tomorrow. Best of luck
Got to agree with Bucks on Rawaki. Ran two good races in much better handicaps than this and will find things much easier today. 3s represents a very playable price to me. 3.30 Pontefract Green Mitas 20/1 Going to keep this one short enough but if getting the tactical ride I think Green Mitas could go very close to landing this 1m handicap. I'm ignoring his last effort which I think came on unsuitably soft ground but if replicating the form of his 3rd 2 starts ago at Chester then I think he could be very hard to beat. Although 0-8 to date, this 3 YO's career only started back in February and he has shown a bit of promise to date with probably his best effort coming on handicap debut at Wolverhampton off a mark of 65 back in April. Undoubtedly his best turf effort came two starts back on good ground at the end of June when going down by a 1.75L beaten 3rd when sent off a 50/1 shot off a mark of 59. Over the extended 10f trip, Ian Burns kicked Green Mitas for home with a little over 2f to and I think stamina just got the better of him late on as he finished a tired but very respectable 3rd. The form of that race looks rather strong with the 2nd and 6th winning on their next starts and in hindsight it was a really likeable effort. He was stepped back to 7f for his last start on unsuitable ground and I think he goes back up to an ideal 1m trip with a stiff finish if given a similarly enterprising ride today again off a mark of 59. What I hope happens is either Green Mitas tries to make all under Julie Burke, who is having her first start for the stable. Only 7 runners go to post which is annoying from an e/w perspective but it should hopefully mean that he gets an uncontested lead. I don't see any reason why Green Mitas can't reproduce his effort from 2 starts ago and if he does I think he could be very difficult to peg back for a trainer who has already had a 50/1 and 25/1 winner this year.
I want to get this one up early as i feel the price will go. Kempton 8.30 Scrupal 6-1 This horse should be backed in a race that is certainly within his ability to win. The key is he is dropping down to a mile from 10 furlongs as he has been in front at the mile pole but not held on in 3 of his last 4 races. He has been in with horses that suggest he is capable in this grade, the main form line that would suggest this is with Goodwood Atlantis who finished 1 1/2 lengths in front of him two runs ago and then went very close in a very good Goodwood handicap last week. There are unexposed horses in this race and so i cannot be hugely confident of him winning but i really think he has a sporting chance at 6-1. As a suggestion of how he will do it is that i feel Fallon will either race him up to lead from the stalls or take it up as soon as possible and try to make a virtually all. He knows at 8f the horse will definately stay as has been running at 10f and so i see him making it a test and having just to much staying power in the last furlong and holding on. Here's hoping anyhow.
Two for me SPIFER SIR FRANCIS DRAKE Have been popping in and see you are all in fine form - well done keep the winners coming.
Lucky 31 for me today 4:50 Brighton - Isobella 11/4 5:00 Pontefract - Striker Torres 12/1 5:10 Newcastle - Steel City Boy 12/1 7:50 Yarmouth - Astroscarlet 3/1 9:00 Kempton - Casa Bex 6/1
Long time no post but often in for a wee look see - some cracking selections recently. These fall into the selections category - unlikely to be cracking. Old Man Clegg New 2.10. Hoofalong New 2.40 - for a quickfire Easterby double. Seen on the telly earlier that a newspapers front page (express?) had front page pictures of all of yesterdays british gold medal winners - unfortunately they had a picture of the dutch equestrian team with their bronze medals!! someones for the high jump - is that a pun?. Good luck to those having a dabble today
Morning all, Think Hannon/Hughes double is on the cards over at Brighton this afternoon. Really fancy the chances of Danz Choice in the opener, beat Dream Maker 2 weeks ago and that one has gone on to win the next two. Over at Ponty the red hot Johnston team have Sir Graham Wade going again after a good win at Goodwood last week. 2.20 Bright - Danz Choice 3.20 Bright - Rising Legend 4.00 Pont - Sir Graham Wade Good luck all.
I would actually still consider him reasonable value at 7-2 or above so 9-2 would sti be worth taking in my opinion Ardent.
Abriachan 900 Kempton! Did someone not tip this the other day and was a NR? also football tomorrow, if you can call it that when Liverpool play!! Liverpool -1 8/11 is that just printing money cos that other lot were poor!!!
Cheers gazboy, missed the race but nice to see a winner. Just hope the second horse wins for the double. Al Maanaal next
Looks like best ground at Brighton is on far side rail, low draws might struggle to get over. I have Satwa Laird 16/1 in the 3:50 at Brighton. Pretty confident that this one has a decent chance and 1/4 odds top 4 is a nice each way price.
