Listened on Timeform radio. I reckon that, as long as his handicap can be protected, there could be a big handicap for him one day. He enjoys a strong pace, he's always handy, always finishes well, has a good burst of acceleration. Honest as the day is long, AND, we know there's more to come from him. Rob seems to be the ideal jockey for him. It's a joy to watch/ listen to the races he contests. I wish you all the best with him stick and Don.

Thanks guys. Cracking night at kempton and squire ran a belter. Chuffed to bits with that and he was having a proper blow when he finished so will come on alot for it. Winner was super fit and barely breathing! Way he fought back was very very pleasing as he could have folded once past and come 4th but he put his head down and fought back.
Aksum less said the better.....!! She showed promise and some positives to take from that. 1 mile at kempton or southwell, taking off the hood and probably using a claimer next time.

Would love to see him in a truly run race Stick where they really go at it. What a trier he is!
Any thoughts on ground later this year? I can't help but look at him (with my very untrained eye) and wonder if he might end up enjoying a little bit of give. His action and style make me wonder, especially he way he keeps on and runs hard.

I think he is fairly adaptable regarding going TC but I know Michael will never run him on soft. He believes that horses who have had a breathing op can be ruined on soft ground through over exertion.
Rab said tonight a mile on the AW is definitely too sharp for him. We have an eye on a Saturday race at Haydock in a few weeks time over ten furlongs. Our long term goal in my view should be to be back at Newmarket for the Cambridgeshire at the end of the season.
He blew really hard for some time after the race tonight which proves Michaels theory that he will come on a bundle for the run.

It was a smashing reappearance and a lovely introduction to the season. Is he now qualified the London mile if he were to be aimed at the final?
Interesting to read Michaels thoughts on horses with breathing ops. Very intriguing theory! Would good to soft be considered okay?
I think he certainly has some improvement in him off that Mark and I can see him touching 90 with a bit of luck and good placement.

He is qualified for the London Mile but in all honesty his AW weather form isn't as good as his turf form. Hamlin said the mile on the All Weather was too sharp for him last night so his target races really need to be turf races over 9 or 10f. The goal has to be the Cambridgeshire.
Good to Soft would be ok but Michael would want feedback before committing him. Understandably he has great affection for the horse and will not risk him.

I was about to have a look to see what valuable 10f handicaps would be run at Newmarket as I can see that would be his ideal. The Cambridgeshire with a strong pace and uphill finish could be the answer though. If he gets in that with a good weight I might come over to watch.
