Secret State has confirmed the promise he showed in the Wood Ditton and he's likely to win the first at Goodwood today, unless Soulcombe keeps improving.. However Teumessias Fox gets a 4lb swing for his recent defeat at Ascot by Soulcombe iIt's going to be closer this time and with the disparity in prices I fancy some EW on T Fox.

    Morning, all.

I do think there is a highly interesting one making his NH bow at Galway today (5.10) in the Maiden Hurdle. Dawn Rising reappears after 748 days away from the track. Now with young Jospeh he was formerly trained by Daddy Aidan and achieved a formline of 5-412 on the level in 2019/20. This included a maiden victory by 12 lengths and a Group 3 2nd at Newmarket (winner that day has subsequently gone on to be Group 1 placed and peak rated at 120). Plus, on pedigree there is much to love about Dawn Rising as he's a brother to Irish Derby winner, Sovereign, and his dam was Group 2 placed. The yard also know how to win this race, the 'card commencer', having had the victor last term. Look you obviously have to take fitness on trust but Dawn Rising is a fascinating, and potentially top notch, recruit to the NH game.

    Good luck, crew.

In the Class-2 Fillies' Handicap at Goodwood (16:10) over a distance just short of 10f, Perepatetic should give a good account. Lightly-raced but aleady a winner. Ran a decent race in Handicap debut at Salisbury 18-days ago. David Egan on board for the Roger Varian yard (must admit that I prefer this stable's runners when the mud is flying!). 8/1 best price at time of writing, available in most places. E/W probably best option, especially if price drifts a bit! :emoticon-0105-wink: :bandit:

Have a good day folks! :emoticon-0167-beer:

What an incredibly tough filly is Oscula. Always on the move and, despite running only 4-days ago at Ascot, won again today at Goodwood. How lucky connections are to have such a brave and consistent racehorse. Time she took a well-deserved break IMHO?

Pity she was slowly away, might have been closer without troubling the good winner. SkyBet paid 4-places, but I don't have an account with them, of course! :emoticon-0101-sadsm :bandit:

Respectable-ish performance from Dawn Rising who came in 3rd of 17. The winner though was in another parish and those bookie chappies have installed that one at 20/1 for the '23 Ballymore at the Festival.

Baaeed and Trillium got the big plaudits at Goodwood but for me the cor-blimey, by 'eck, I say, monocle popping out performance was from The Platinum Queen. Fast with a capital 'F'. If you blinked you would have missed her. Why on earth though didn't they put the old girl in the Molecomb?!?

Secret State wins but T Fox was rubbish, and ran no sort of race.
