Morning all, Could not see a thread so thought I would start one! Rare I do but why not! A fancy for me today is Saytara 3/1 in the 7:45 at Leicester. Heavily supported last time out where raced wide with no cover. Money for it again today. Clearly well thought of and Frankie takes the ride. I expect this to be better than its current mark. Good luck all with your bets.
Naas 5:45-Rapid Approach 2/1 Son of Derby winner New Approach and out of a irish mare who won over 5 and 6f as a juvenile and half sister to the useful Radharcnafarriage.Very interesting debutante. Leicester 6:40-Future Wonder 2/1 Has shown plenty of promise in 2 maidens and much better than the bare form indicates the last day over 7f when given far too much to do.Step up to a mile and the ground will suit and if ridden accordingly can go very close here. 7:45-Spirit Of The Law 5/2 Improved to win a Doncaster handicap over 10f in April and improved on that when easily wimning at Yarmouth 6 days ago.The penalty shouldn't be a problem and can go in again here. 8:50-Rambo Will 5/1 Won 3 times last year and looked to be crying out for a drop back to this trip at Windsor the last day.Runs off a unchanged mark here and can go very close indeed. Lucky 15 for me
GOOD LUCK FAMOUS--ENJOY THE SUN MATE 3 for moi------swift early treble---salutation,bennys well and papradon.
Morning all A couple of old timers have caught my eye this morning at Worcester: 1.50 Marked Man 12/1 - was foaled a couple of months prior to the European Football Championships in England in 1996 and goes to post here as a 16 year old !!!!!! He took this race 2 years ago off a mark of 90 with 5lb claimer Jake Greenall on board (exactly the same as today) and the ground has dried out in time for him. His last win was also off 90 with Greenall on board, over 3 miles at Towcester on Firm last October. He clearly still retains his enthusiasm and had a nice pipe-opener at Hereford a couple of weeks ago so should be spot on for this. 2.20 Lahib The Fifth 4/1 - The 12 year old gelding makes his debut for the Pipe yard after a 14 month break and looks nicely treated off 88 with his amateur rider taking another 5 off. He won a handicap hurdle for Nicky Richards at Worcester back in 2006 to attain his highest official hurdle rating of 112 before embarking on a mixed hurdling/chasing career which yielded only 1 further victory (a handicap chase at Kelso). He has never raced beyond 2m5f over hurdles but I can imagine today's longer trip, the return to the smaller obstacles, the lively ground (on which all his 5 career wins have come), the first time cheek-pieces, the handicapper's leniency and that bit of old "Pipe magic" could just do the trick Best of luck to those dabbling today
Just passing on something heard from a repected friend. There is an unraced horse in the second at Lingfield called Peace Treaty who he said could be expected to win a race or two in the right grade. Now when i asked was he backing it he actually said not sure with regard today and so please do not imagine i am passing on something that i am not, but it is up at 25-1 and a very small EW could give you a run for your money today and something to watch out for later on. good luck all today
Chiefy. A mate of mine used to say "You're only as old as the woman you feel" Read any good books lately?
right, look to finally have internet set up now. Am in South of France (yes, Ron ) for the next month so you guys will be my only link with the outside world, have missed the banter the last few days. I also like the look of Rapid Approach Famous, I hope he's as good as his dad, but as someone said here recently, this breeding seems to be a hit and miss business...
Catterick 5:00 - I'm interested in both the Nicholls horses in this race. Adrian Nicholls has chosen to ride Crimea which means Shirley Teasdale will be claiming seven on FOL HOLLOW. I will be going with the latter at 10/1. Goes well at Catterick, running off a mark of 72, was running off mid 80s this time last year when it won this race lto. At a decent each way price i'm fairly confident of atleast a place, famous last words.
Morning all, dull and overcast in the North East of England but had a little time to study whats on offer today. 3.00 Catterick Tom Dascombe and Richard Kingscote have one runner at the meeting Lea Valley Black 16/1 (EW) may be worth a market check and is worth a little EW money. 3.30 Catterick the Brian Smart trained Master Rooney 20/1 (EW) is an interesting runner, with 5lb claimer Justin Newman on board he drops to a winnable mark LTO out in this grade he won off a 1lb higher mark on similar ground at Beverley and looks a cracking EW bet, unfortunately it will only pay 2 places but at his best he is good enouch to make the frame or even win. 4.30 Catterick Meydan Style 25/1 (EW)is an all weather type but returns to the turf again after a poor show LTO at Musselburgh, interestingly having ridden the favourite here LTO Graham Lee takes the ride and if he gets away quickly the run of the rail draw at Catterick could make him difficult to catch and be enough to see him involved.
15:30 Catterick - Nomoreblondes (3-times a winner and 3-times second in sprints at this track during career, should make them all go. 7-1 and 13/2 readily available at the moment). GL today everyone!
Anyone know when the racecards are visible before a meeting? Im off to Chester a week Sunday so was hoping to see some entries.
Hello lads. Just a glass of V8 juice for me. Had an apple turnover for breakfast because it was going off...well we are in a double dipper! GL all.
