    The Jam Man 15/2 - Cheltenham 2.35

Cracking price for a hugely improved horse. Missed his engagement on home soil in favour of this as his trainer is confident he can compete in a stayers come March time. He will want to be going damn close to taking this then and with Coleman on board again, I am cautiously optimistic he can.

    Happy New Year to all.

That's a 16lb hike he's been given STH - that will take some overcoming, but good luck <ok>

I'm favouring Skandiburg myself, but there a few possibilities here :)

Yep, Ronan has been talking of him being in the same breath as Paisley Park and is adamant theres the required improvement to compete at the top, he's hardly breaking sweat winning lately so the rise through the weights is always unavoidable and if he flops tomorrow then it's fair to say he's reaching his limit. I know Ronan McNally is not Willie Mullins or Gordon Elliot but I am willing to respect his comments and the enthusiasm he has carried for this lad so fingers crossed. Its certainly a tricky looking race but appears very winnable at the same time.

    Musselburgh 2.50 Lastofthecosmics

    - Ian Jardine has had 19 handicap hurdlers in the money from 43 runs at Musselburgh over the last 5 seasons
    - stable amongst the winners recently
    - this horse has shown some promise since running in handicaps (3rd at this track 2 runs ago)
    - handicap mark down another 2lb

At 16/1 worth an each way bet to Start the new year with a winner.

    Southwell 2:30 Alpha Tauri

    - 13 wins at this track
    - 2 lb below last winning mark
    - connections reported he was never travelling last time
    - several of trainer's recent runners at Southwell were in the money

At 25/1 I'll take a chance on this Veteran.

Crazy price for a horse that did alot of winning over this sort of trip in his day maybe that not much ability remains but worth a very small wager to find out . 4 places pp

I hope Singlefarmpayment can win for you lads today ...................I have backed him a few times in the past but I can't help feeling he always runs well yet struggles to get his head in front - with the upshot that he gets little relief from the handicapper. His last win was just over 3 years ago off a mark of 133 and he is STILL up at 140. The Ivy Grower's Another Venture would be my pick if I were having a bet (which I'm not - so best of luck with SFP <ok>)

The cocky french are getting a bit used to coming to Cheltenham and farming our races. Unfortunately for us they might be at it again today in the bumper. On paper both Genola and gavina look smart on paper. I’m not taking any chances and am backing both.

Benefit Run has a great chance of landing 2.55 at Tramore (This will be my biggest bet of the year so far!!)3/1 win with lass of the moment Rachel Blackmore in the saddle(move over Fallon Sherrock).
