Morning, team. Big question of the day must be should we Twist again, this eve, like we did last Summer?!? Thoughts, please.

But be careful out there, troops, as I note the media in the last 24 hours have renamed ‘Brexit Britain’ ‘Crisis Brexit Britain’. I’ve put my hard hat on, as a result, and I doubt I’ll be taking it off for a while.

Meanwhile, I see that Apple’s Shakira was indeed lowered by the old boy handicapper. That 142 has been reduced to 140. Kilcrea Vale went 2 lbs the other way but 137 still looks a lovely mark for the 2019 Topham. And that could be lowered, of course, if he’s given a ‘nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more…’ run or two before then.

Given how spectacularly wrong I was last time am I the right person to ask?!? However, if someone held a gun to my head, although I’m sure no-one would ever want to do that, I can’t see him being any bigger than the 3’s currently on offer. So I’ll say 11/4. His usual pilot Jerry McGrath looks set to keep the ride, incidentally, with the De Boinville boy currently jocked up on my old fave, Casablanca Mix (although she also has another 2 entries at Cheltenham this weekend).

Laurina entered AGAIN - this time the International Hurdle. Will she? Won't she? Does even Willie know?

I must say it isn't exactly the most exciting, high class 2 days of racing I've ever seen in the shadows of Cleeve Hill. Am I in danger of becoming a "racing purist"?

    Leicester

    15,30 Bailarico 5/1

Maybe today he has it more difficult than in his last race.

Last years corresponding fixture produced the Supreme, Albert Bartlett and Ultima Chase winners plus alot of placed horses at the festival (some at big prices). Will be worth keeping an eye on results.

Totally concur. And I’ll add my usual gripe about the self-proclaimed ‘natural amphitheatre’ not holding a race on the Chase course, on either day, beyond 2.30. Don’t know whether to laugh or cry about this.

Who’s this Willie chap by the way??? Never heard of him.

Quick quiz. I see that there is a new version of Monopoly out based on the world of horse racing (slap on the rump, blame it on the vet, off to the breeding shed, more plots than an Agatha Christie novel and all that…). But, and this is the quiz quest, what is the most expensive (M400) and the least expensive (M60) racecourse in the game???

And just for the record I have decided not, I say not, to Twist this evening.

    hi lads!

    hexham,12 50:

HATTONS HILL had a fantastic season last year, winning 5 on the bounce at this track.this resulted in a big hike up in the weights, but at least,we know,he loves it here, and though not so good on his first run last time out,he may have needed it.so,if in the same vein of form today, can give a good account.

    leicester,1 00:

a small but tricky field, with all 4 holding sound chances on form, but i think,YOUKNOWELL could be a shade underrated by the assessor, for her very easy win last time out at plumpton, and there might be more to come from this unexposed mare..

M400 would have to be Royal Ascot, surely? For M60 I would plump for either Chelmsford or Wolverhampton (I would have said Southwell but I don't want to go upsetting Nass).

Would subsequent exploits suggest those 3 festival winners are not "top, top class"?

I don't doubt there will be some good form pointers going forward but the cards are hardly "stellar".

M400 is indeed Ascot (I suspect they didn’t make it ‘Royal’ in case old boy Jerry gets in shortly and they then have to recall and rename all the merchandise!). No, the least expensive is not an all-weather venue.

    Fakenham?
    Hereford?
    Sedgefield?
    Hexham?

(I'm going on the class of race they generally host - slow day in the office)

4 no's. I'd give a clue but the only ones I can think of rather give it away.
