If there is any justice in the world, then The Name is Don wins the 2;50 at folk (you know why) and Mr Brazils Cathcart castle is way over due a win today 5ish at Carlisle (why has he called it cathcart castle ? points if you know) other than that i wave the SBC banner stay frosty and be quiet when you post, ive been up all night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROTO: Great shouts yesterday, hope you doubled them up too mate As for the unemployed on here: get a life and then maybe you will find a job
Dan: Well, I brilliantly napped a last place yesterday (serves me right for trying the cursed Flat) so today will try Morning Farewell* in the 3:10 at Hereford. GL everyone today! *Non-Runner
Hairy Hereford???? Does that refer to the women's armpits? Very popular in Germany the old underarm hair on ladies. Don't knock it till you've tried it
Nap today goes to Tim Vaughan's Green Du Ciel in the 3.10 at Hereford who absolutely hosed up last time and looks to have been given a workable mark for his handicap debut. McCoy riding one of Gordon Elliot's in the same race should help to give us a nice price on Green Du Ciel. Good luck everyone
Morning all. Hope everyone is well. Cheers for the thread Danbo. Gotta have a go on that one in the 2.50!! Nice spot, cheers! One i like, 4pm, Bath, Oriental Girl at 8-1.
From yesterdays thread a few comments: Ailsa Craig got going too late, another win is on the cards. Bogey Hole was extremely disappointing and one to dodge! Let Your Love Flow will win very soon, ran a nice race and was only beaten by an odds on shot. Although winning Late Telegraph (nice gamble too) only won by a neck and a head so wont be a world beater especially as the hood was applied on debut!! Good day at the office, shame the 'stable gamble' ran a stinker though
Morning gents, hope we are all well... Not much that gets my eye today, but i put forward... Hereford... 2.40 - Pheonix Eye, 6/1 - Has run well lately and won twice here before. Will be in the mix at the end of this... 4.10 - Flying Doctor, 5/1 NAP - Dropped down in trip from maybe his preferred distance but is the top rated horse in this field. Showed form in his last run at Cartmel, finishing 3rd, aided by the fact he won at this CD last year... Good luck to all who play today...
Morning chaps, A few of you may have had the good fortune to follow my lead in backing the hind legs off Outpost yesterday afternoon. A 66/1 winner and the forecast with the favourite Burj Hatta is not easy to come by. Thanks to the lads who gave me a well received pat on the back as I was counting my new found wealth. A day that will live long on the memory I am sure. Now, following that rather exquisite (if i do say so myself) bit of tipping I have decided to take a long hard look at Hereford's 2.40. There's nothing I like more than deciphering a Class 5 handicap hurdle in August. Of course, what better place to start off than by putting up the obvious chances like Timocracy, Shadow's Gold and Phoenix Eye. I don't want to forget about Cresswell Pride, Castle Myth, Joe Rua or the mighty Cast of Stars (no relation to Seas the Stars i am reliably informed by my sources 'in the know'). Lombok, Modern Day Icon and Duke of Burgundy can and will not be ruled out as I think they all have outstanding claims as does the wonderfully named Nicky Nutjob. That leaves me with the lingering thought that Aughcarra and Bazart are extremely live chances in this very tough contest. Ofcourse, those who followed me in yesterday will no doubt be well aware that combination forecasts are where the real money can be made in this game so i'll be making it very clear from the off that I'll be lumping on again today. Good luck again today lads. Remember, only bet what you can afford to lose. Once I've finally finished counting my ooooddddllllleeeessss and ooooddddllleeeessss of £50 notes following yesterday's fabulous result i'll be nipping off to the bookies to place my max stake wager. Toodle pip.
Outstanding Rounders simply outstanding enjoy your weatlh i for one think you deserve your own thread "Rounders Roundabout Bet" keep counting
Morning all Edgeware Road in the 1st at Folkstone for me Also done a Dickie Johnson/Tim Vaughan Yankee at Hereford Off golfing now.........expect to come back a wealthy man..........or not!!! Good luck all
Just the one bet for me today but it looks a nice proposition: 635 Car: A lot of these will either not get home over this stiff course or will not like the ground HOWEVER My Single Malt will love both and also with a fast pace he will be finishing better than most. SDS is in the plate and i feel sure the money will come, 5s looks a great EW bet but i am going in for the WIN bet. Be Lucky all who play
I don't really post on this board often but I read in from time to time and notice a few posters get quite a lot of winners, I've been lucky enough to back a few of them too so keep them coming! My main bets today are 4:10 Hereford - Coolagad Wonder Win 4:30 Bath - Blue Deer Win 8:20 Kempton - Wiqaaya E/W
Like the look of My Single Malt in the 18:35 at Carlisle. Will have a dabble methinks.................................
Afternoon, all. Must report that its a 'no bet' one for me today as nothing particularly inspires the old Chuckle betting juices. The day isn't without interest though and must say that the £3,800 12 furlong maiden at Folkestone looks very good. The old racecourse executive must be delighted with the turnout and I'd even go so far as to suggest it must be one of Folkestone's best ever re this type of heat. It's so good a race that I was unable to determine a clear winner. Am leaving the contest alone therefore because as a wise old sage once told me 'if in doubt, back nowt'. However, good luck if you do wager today.
Going to freshen up the approach today firstly for a bit of fun and secondly as a bit of a trial. BEST CHANCE OF THE DAY: JAMR 6/1 (4.50 Folkestone)- There are 4 or 5 who look closely matched on paper, but Saeed Bin Suroor goes on a rare forray down to Folkestone with Frankies 34% strike rate at the course over the past decade. If Jamr can run to the form of it's 2nd place on penultimate start, he ought to be a few pounds better than these rivals today, and on a sounder surface than the good-to-soft Lingfield turf last time, can go in at pretty rewarding odds. LONGSHOT OF THE DAY: Steelcut 14/1 (5.00 Bath) - Had a cracking season so far, been mixing in better company than this earlier in the season, down to a very realistic level and dropped 1lb by the handicapper. Up against an exposed bunch of sprinters this might rate an interesting each-way angle if bouncing back. VALUE SELECTION OF THE DAY: Rose Aurora (7/2) (3.00 Bath) might look a big price later on. This filly is bred to be a fair bit better than a 47 rated handicapper, and Marcus Tregonings yard are in better order now than at the beginning of the season. She was well backed last time when disappointing, but returns after a 149 day break with a tongue-tie. Her performance when in midfield in a Warwick maiden suggests she possesses enough ability to reach a mark in the mid 60s, so clearly if getting it all together she could be around 13-15lb well in. Her two penultimate runs firmly suggested she enjoys a good trip, having ran on strongly and then denied a clear run before staying on again next time. There is money down again today and it would be nice if we can finally see the best of this filly after a break, hoping the tongue-tie can do the trick. LAY OF THE DAY: 8.20 Kempton: Shooting Line (7/2) - Won easily at Windsor in a maiden but 85 and top weight is a difficult thing to handle and you will have to be a good horse to do so. Given the potential of three or four of his rivals in the field, even though they have flattered to deceive, I think this one is worth taking on. Wiqaaya has shaped very well and looks certain to run up to its mark, especially on second try at 1m, General Synod is very dangerous now back down to 1m, and Switchback s bound to win races off a mark of 71, as is often the case with Sir Michael Stoute handicappers. One or two throw-away thoughts: Money Note 20/1 (2.20 Folkestone) is bred to be better than this and whilst not setting the world alight in three French maidens, she will be interesting to watch today, though for betting purposes dabbling on THUNDA 14/1 looks interesting under Tom Queally. Dropped a couple of pounds for an easily forgivable failure to handle Brighton, his maiden form is good and is up to winning of this mark.
Is Priors Gold going to be the first of a few "bookies benefits" that McCoy is on today? Very heavily backed and really shouldn't be that short with the Vaughan, Sherwood and Bowen runners in the race
