If he didn't though, he wouldn't be plying his trade with us in the championship.

This season our problem hasn't been scoring goals, only Fulham have scored more this season - it's been conceding them (only Forest and Rotherham have conceded more). I'd rather Oliveira was our starting striker, but Jerome fits our club, works hard, and has scored a fair amount. I'm more than happy with him as able backup.

I thought he spoke very well of his time here, an honest account of his failings and regrets, never blamed anyone else at the club. I felt at the time before his departure that he had come to this realisation and was preparing for a summer of change, which I feel like he was building towards in terms of the squad.

I don't think he can be blamed for renewing contracts of the majority of the squad in the hope that they could get us promoted again, I think a lot of people advocated it at the start of the season, with the exception of Whittaker and Turner.

I agree DH, except that IMO Jerome is better in away matches (most of his goals have been scored away from home). He holds the ball up better than Oliveira and hassles opposing defenders into mistakes. At home, however, Oliveira's technical skills help to break down stubborn defenses better than Jerome's pace and power. They complement each other in that way. As the third striker I'd like to see Tammy Abraham, currently on loan to Bristol City from Chelsea. At 19, he has 22 goals in 38 matches so far for BC and would give another useful option up front.

Abraham would never come here to be the third striker, and Chelsea wouldn't let it happen as they want him to get playing experience. There's also the matter of him driving without license or insurance. It makes me wonder about his mentality.

I meant third striker as one of 3, not third choice, CS. A new striker, Abraham or another, would need to be able to compete for the starting line-up from the pre-season onward and I think Abraham could do that. If he or Chelsea feel that he couldn't do that, then he wouldn't be the right choice. Every player in every position should be competing for a starting-place, including our young players.

I would be happy with that if true and I'd certainly take him over Monk who, in my opinion is overrated.
With his connections to Citeh we could even see one or two outstanding loan signings.
I'm not normally a fan of bringing in loan players, but Citeh have a wealth of talent at their disposal whom they have to keep happy.

Daily Fail or no, it's a story that has some credence with what has been said by others. It's not surprising that Rosler would be looking for a bigger club and he has said that he'd be happy to work under a SD. I like KIO's suggestion about possible loan signings from Citeh as well. Perhaps we should have a separate thread about HC rumours.
