http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/ne...in-neill-blomkamps-alien.html#~p4si45Wak4A9uU Sigourney Weaver has suggested that she would be interested in reprising her Alien role if Neill Blomkamp's project goes ahead. Thoughts on the original 4 movies, the alien versus predator series and a potentially new film?
I've somehow managed to miss all these movies but I hope Sigourney doesn't go down the Harrison Ford route of making action films when he looks like the only action he gets in real life these days is walking to the paper shop at 2 miles an hour
Think he's saying the first one was better than the second. Not sure if he's aware another two followed.
Yes, another two that are considered nowhere near as good as those two, ergo it was pointless including them in considering the first two are constantly compared. Technically there are another 5 films involving Aliens by the way, not 2.
1. No I don't. I'm not 12 years old nor do I do computer programming. 2. How much effort is it for you to type an actual sentence rather than just include hieroglyphics? 3. My name isn't Christ.
There's ****loads more than 5 films involving Aliens: Men In Black. Men In Black II. Men In Black III. Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Super 8. ET. Aliens in the Attic. Batteries Not Included. Avatar. Cocoon. Cocooon The Return. And that's without even trying.
Ah there he goes again with the faceslap.... If you had a basic grasp of English you wouldn't need to rely on basic maths to construct a sentence.
True although they're not under the same title name. The AvP films were very fan boy and made both aliens look weak compared to their previous films. I didn't mind Alien Ressurection and I still haven't seen Prometheus.
Don't bother with Prometheus, it's not very good at all, BUT I would say it was better than 3 or Resurrection. You are absolutely right on the AvP films, and those are truly awful movies as well. Resurrection is bad, but isn't as bad as Alien 3. Any film that (SPOILER ALERT) kills off the characters that most of the second film is centered around about 10 minutes in is asking for trouble. Though based on Blomkamp's work it appears he has erased 3 from existence by having Hicks around.
Alien >= Aliens > Alien 3 >>>> Alien Resurrection Didn't like Aliens v Predator and still not seen Prometheus largely due to the mixed reviews.
The best thing about Prometheus is Fassbender's performance, and that's about it IMO. Based on all the films: Alien > Aliens > That scene in Spaceballs > Prometheus > Alien Resurrection > AvP 1 and 2 >>>>>>> Alien 3
I think I read that by the time they came to film the third film, the little girl was too old to still play her part. That said, they could have explained it by them being in space that long.
I love the Alien/predator movies obviously, probably like you like Guardians of the Galaxy. Aliens is actually the first movie I can remember watching. I snuck downstairs after my parents thought I was in bed and watched it from the staircase behind them. Alien 3 should be wiped out as the little girl, rippley and hicks do not die in the books and comics at the prison planet. The comics and books are far more like the movie Aliens than any other ones. Alien 3 has the right tone and feel to it its just that it kills off 3 characters that shouldn't die there. The AvP films are fine as they do not follow the books or comics but they got the right feel to them. In the Alien material after Aliens the survivors return. Hicks years later goes on a mission to the Alien homeworld and takes Newt. Basically its similar to Rippley going back to LV-426. In the meantime Earth is infected so when the mission gets back Earth is basically taken over and everyone abandons earth. The rest of the story lines are similar to Alien or Aliens where small ships or planets of people are infected by aliens as people who abandoned earth were caring eggs or such without knowing. The company is always trying to engineer the aliens as a weapon bad things happen etc. The AvP material is basically like all the movies. The predators you see in the movies are young adolescent males going through a right of passage to become adults. The females of the species do not leave the homeworld and females only mate with the most famous males. There are rules certain weapons for certain species etc. It is almost always the predators who infect new worlds with Aliens as that allows for lots of sport and the chance to become an adult and one day get to mate. Where they didnt follow the story line is the black lady(she is supposed to be japanese) in the first AvP, she was supposed to go with the Predators after she saved their captain and she joins there crew. She is basically Hicks(as its all written by the same people and they have similar storylines). The engineers from Prometheus that looked like giant elephants in the movie Alien, are actually giant looking alien elephants and not the engineering looking thins from Prometheus. They arent supposed to be god engineers but a species of scientists and explorers. The ship that crashed that started the movie Alien was a research vessel. They make appearances once in a while in the books and comics but not to often, almost like Star Trek where the federation doesnt involve itself with lesser species.
Killing off the characters is what caused the third film to fail. Also why does the prison have no weapons? That means there was never anything to stop the inmates taking over.
