We were 1-0 down and getting on top. Altidore had come close and then Fletcher has the goal at his mercy, skies his shot trips over their defender and goes down in a bizarre fashion and suddenly we are down to 10 men.

The body language of the players was poor at the end, heads went down.

Can't blame Di Canio, Macrias actually looked decent when he came on.

Things could get worse before they get better I'm sticking with Paolo.

For all our faults, most of out matches have hinged on key moments. Whether that has been sown to luck, a mistake or whatever, things have conspired against us.

Aye, bad luck overcomes skill, determination and ability every time.

    OK. Here's my plan.

Put a ladder above the away team changing room door before the next match. Then they all have to walk under it.

Sprinkle salt everywhere in the changing room. If they don't throw some over their LEFT shoulders before going on the pitch, even better.

Make sure all mirrors in there are of a kind that will break if just touched,

Put down plenty of cracked tiles on the floor.

    Europe beckons.
