Not that one - the other one. The one we won in 2002

But it all started today 6 July 2002 when we played FC Haka in the first round. There were only 8,000 in the Cottage to watch due to safety certificates not being issued for two ends of the ground. [we left later in the month for two years while the ground was redeveloped].

It was a pretty rubbish first half but their goalie played a blinder in the second and kept a clean sheet. The team was:

Taylor, Ouaddou, Melville, Goma, Harley, Davis, Collins, Malbranque (Goldbaek 78), Marlet (Boa Morte 71), Saha, Sava (Hayles 60).

Subs Not Used: Hahnemann, Knight, Hudson, Legwinski

We also drew the second leg (1-1) but went through on the away goal rule and took off from there.

As befits the status of the competition, that must be the tiniest trophy in world football!

Brings back good Memories of the away game against FC Haka. We traveled to Helsinki stayed there and then got the train to Tampere and stayed there, got the local bus in the morning on the day of the game, nice little town, sat outside nice bars on a sunny day. Game was a close one with Marlet of all people scoring for us just after half-time to make it 1-1, Nice little ground, but I remember it had a big old Factory behind the open end of the ground. Caught the last local bus back to Tampere, where we stayed in the bars till 4am as it was still day light, then back to Helsinki. Ah the memories........
