Ipswich midfielder Cole Skuse is Premier League quality, according to Town manager Mick McCarthy. We have had a couple, Bolasie, the lad that went to Newcastle readily come to mind.. now Skusey.. aren't we looking for a midfielder?
Massively underappreciated by our fans, not helped by the fact that it's very difficult to shine in a poorly performing team.
nor me- often seemed to give the ball away but then got a big cheer for putting in a strong tackle to win the ball back again-
He was a good player and won the supporters player of the year. Within weeks he was being slated by his own fans, and we wonder why we can't attract players here!
A Yate boy, a real good bloke, supported local schools, hospital visits, always had good habits, good manners, he never let the side down, considering he came though our own set up he was a credit to us.. He played 307 games for Bristol City and scored 9 goals, he has played 83 games to date for Ipswich and scored 1, giving a total of 391 games and 10 goals scored, he is 29 years of age and his current club manager, Mick McCarthy, a very experienced manager rates him as a Premier class quality player, not bad for a local son of the West Country.. I must admit I am a great fan of SKKUUSSeeeeeeey, I always have been, good luck to him, he is a great example to youngsters taking up the game today.
Cole still does a lot here in Bristol, top player and underated by the club when he decided to move on. His heart is with our club i know trust me
Thats exactly why some people don't rate him..they don't believe we can create such a good player here, its our mentality, all ****in doom mongers! He is very good at what he does, those who don't understand football can't see that. he doesn't have any special skills or flicks and tricks!
The early Cole Skuse that I remember never looked as though he would be Champ let alone Prem class, but as he matured he looked as though he could hold his own in the Champ. I don't see him play now, so cannot comment on form, but to be Prem class he would have to have improved one hell of a lot from when he was with us. I hope he does make it though, would be good to see a Bristol boy in the Prem. he was always pro City and from memory left with a heavy heart. Good luck to him!
