Get the ball moving for the future.

    ------------Hart---------------
    -Jones--Cahill--Smalling--Shaw-
    ---------Henderson-------------
    ------Barkley----Oxlade---------
    -Welbeck------------Sterling----
    -----------Sturridge-------------

    Agree?

Roy will probably play Milner and Lampard (and again at euro2016).

****ing hell, Jones AND Smalling? One perhaps might make it if we're really unlucky in four years time, but both? No wonder our defense is shot if those are the best two backups/youth we have.

Otherwise, I'd drop all of the old players and play some kids, give them the WC experience and get them playing together.

Everyone as young as possible to give them some experience of World Cup. I think Gerrard will retire from international footie now IMO and concentrate on winning the league with us :D

Its at a time like this we should have brought Stones and Flanno.

Johnson should have no future, either with us or England and Jones and Smalling are ****.

Flanno and Stones are future defensive hopes and could have done with getting some tournament experience, isn't that why Shaw has been taken.

Yes just not on some names

I'd not stick jones rb but what option have England got???
That rolls then to smalling who is not up to this level

I'd haven't jones cb even though he's not really up to it either

Welbeck has had plenty of time so far I would at least let lallana play cm in there once and push OX into forward line where he's ok

I didn't see this when I said much the same thing on the Uruguay game thread. I'd play Jones too, and tbf I thought, three years ago, Smalling was a future England captain. Can't believe how dire he became. Hope he leaves United and gets his mojo back.

I guess Roy would play Jones there if he needed to.

Anyway, two questions - is it disloyal to take down the England flags from the car and suchlike (should we wait till the CR game is over?), and is it disloyal to say I'll be watching the Italy/Uruguay game instead? I said Italy were nailed on semi-finalists after the England game - they're not that good though, are they? balotelli is no Suarez, that's for sure.

But am I right in saying that Italy have to win to through now? Same goal difference, but Uruguay have scored more? Be interesting to see if Uruguay pack the defence and rest Suarez unless they need him as a sub.

No Italy can draw, they have a better GD. Uruguay are -1, Italy are 0

Uruguay lost to Costa Rica 3-1, not 2-1

Okay. that means they'll play Luis and go for a win.

    Cheers.

No for fuel economy those flags come right off and I think ok Italy are the types to grind 0-0 out and always gave a chance but I said before their ore tournament made them look **** and so I think they'll go for the draw v uraguay
