When other teams have had a good start or are doing well at a certain period in the season they seem to get put on TV abit more yet LCFC, who are 3rd ain´t. Perfect e.g. Next week we play Arsenal, 2 teams in the top 5, & it´s the usual 15.00 k.o for us.
Palace seem to be on abit & I seem to remember Southampton last season & Fulham a few years ago being on abit more than `the norm` too. Credit where credits due... but that would mean we live in a perfect footballing world.

Other news; Costa is pushing it abit ain´t he ?

Ok that´s your point & for you a good one, in away. But the big picture is... don´t we have a right to a bit more of the pie ? & alot of ppl can´t get to games for this reason & that. The rich are getting richer & the poor.... well **** them.

The televised fixtures for the first 3 months or so are decided well in advance of the new season, wouldn't be surprised when the next batch of televised fixtures are announced that we are selected more - should we continue to do well.

They have to show the games that they have already announced but they do have the rights to show any other game they want - the annoying thing about that is those are the games that get moved but they normally announce them a week or so beforehand.

In financial terms, I think you get Sky money based on your finish rather than how many times you're on TV. Most Prem matches are streamed though if you can't make it (I didn't tell you that).

If being on TV less means some of our players are below the radar, then so much the better, but I don't think scouts get their knowledge from watching the box! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I think the fixtures are set up to about Christmas, after which they're decided upon due to league importance - ie vs. big clubs and relegation 6 pointers.

The sad fact is, if we're not in a relegation battle, we'll be on less than last year. We hardly ever got on TV in the O'Neill days when I was a hard-up student.

Not sure about that as the premier lge gives out the cash ref lge pos as far as I know.

I know as I watch the games most weekends, but that´s not the point.

I doubt it very much or Youtube either.

I can understand fans wanting a 3pm k.o but I also understand fans getting ****ed off with the so called `big 4`being on TV almost week in week out. But I guess that suits SKY.

There is an agreement that all teams are shown a certain number of times & after that it's up to sky. As a business they want people subscribing to sky sports so the big 4/5 teams that attracts viewing figures are always going to get more games.

Being on always used to jinx us so I wasn't ever too disappointed that we weren't on a lot.

That said playing on a day ending with y jinxed us for large parts of last season <wah>

So playing once on TV before xmas generates the same cash as playing 6 times ? Bummer.

No, there is an equal payment to all clubs & then 25% divided between clubs depending on how many times you're selected to be shown. A further 25% is divided dependent on final league position. Gangsta posted the link above, although saying it was all equally divided, it isn't.

    • 50% of UK broadcast revenue split equally between the 20 clubs
    • 25% of UK broadcast revenue paid in Merit Payments ("Prize Money" per place in the table)
    • 25% of UK broadcast revenue paid in Facility Fees each time a club's matches are broadcast in the UK.
    • All international broadcast revenue, and central commercial revenue, is split equally among the 20 clubs.
Man U were shown the most & received £21m, we were shown the minimum number of times along with Stoke, WBA, Hull & Burnley so received the least, £8.7m

I can see both sides of the coin on this one (who wants to watch a `small team´ v a´small team´ when a big team is playing ? / as said, the rest should get more of the pie), If a team is doing well then they should have more of a showing. Top teams have the CL & the EL too.

Anyway that´s life ain´t it. I guess it´s the same in all the top clubs ?

Ultimately it comes down to TV viewers - Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc are always on TV because a lot of people watch those matches.

Other then Leicestershire (and the Outer Hebrides according to that random poll a while back) no one really would watch us so we would only be on TV if it was against those teams or if there was other things of interest like a derby against Villa.

We will know we hit the big time when we are on TV against someone like Stoke who don't have a massive audience outside of their area.
