Despite our recent run of terrible defeats and our lack of goals, has anybody noticed that generally we have seriously increased our shoots on goal and shots on target ratios over the last number of games. I know that this has not directly affected our results but if we continue to create changes and we manage to keep 11 men on the pitch then this can only be a positive.

I might be living in a dream world but I still think that if Adel can rifle one into the top corner (or even let one bounce in off his posterior) then he could be the inspiration that keep us up.

I think the stats people need to find a new term to cover the kind of powder puff efforts Adel was making on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, he was the only player worth watching and any hope we have of staying up is heavily reliant on his performances, but I'm pretty sure Swarzer would have been just as comfortable with back passes as these so called 'shots'.

TBH, with these same stats also showing that the inept Barton was the most active of our players I think its pretty clear that they should simply be ignored for the most part.

I take your point but Adel has been the only recognisable source of creative spark since he's been back from the ACON. If he had full confidence (it doesn't take much for him to think he's a world beater normally) then the shots would have more zip and the spark would be even brighter.

My other hope is Cisse who does look like the only reliable finisher we have. I have stated several times that I'm worried that he is emotionally scarred from his injuries (hence his overrreaction) but if he proves me wrong on that score then he might be the Tevez character that keeps us up (don't tell Warnock I said that).

I think it's positive but I don't want to see all our efforts from range. I'm hoping with Cisse, and possibly Mackie played as a striker, they can get right up under the defenders' knickers.

This follows a subject title of "found our shooting boots"...

Did I miss something? ;o) Surely finding ones shooting boots refers to successful shots.

How do you define worst, least shots? Most off target, worst shots on target ratio? Least goals?

We take loads of shots, virtually all of them are non threatening.

Most of our shots are threatening - just not necessarily to the goal.

I know, can anyone remember us scoring from one, SWP takes only 1 corner and we get a goal from it. Youd have thought theyd give him a few more tries. He cant be worse than Barton, he had a corner straight out of play and a FK in our own half kicked out for a GK!
