Unbelievable turn of events. Never will I forget this night (or that last few mins). Now all we need is a Swansea win or draw....
They're celebrating the lifeline we've just got...5 minutes ago we were toast. plus it's the last home game of the season. Let them enjoy this moment. More than enough time to worry next week
Swansea ?? We still need Stoke to take points from Bolton in their last game, and Wigan to beat Blackburn!!! Then we are up!
Slightly too early to celebrate, although a huge step out of the mire! Bolton's failure to hold off W.Brom and waste a 2 goal lead, may well have made them favourites for relegation, but the one point they gained and a win in their last match at Stoke, would be enough for survival unless QPR can pinch a point at City. Too close to call yet!
Its all about Bolton...draw or lose at Stoke and we are up...for me, Blackburn are down. Really cant see them getting anything at Chelsea.
seems strange reaction given the game next week...that said, you did well...and you won me some money...
Hard to celebrate on another teams pitch. It often happens on the last day fans going on the pitch, more so when dramatic endings happen. Personally I don't do the pitch thing but understand the feelings behind it.
Stay up and have Utd lose their title would do it for me. Have a bad feeling on the Stoke - Bolton game though.
very likely, but they really don't have anything to play for now. They can't beat their top total in the prem now, they can't finish top 10. Plus they have form at handing lifelines to relegation teams on the last day. fortunately Bolton can't string together anything approaching decent football at the moment, but id get the draw at city to be sure!
Still think its 50/50 whether we stay up. Bolton have a good chance of winning at Stoke who have nothing to play for and stats show teams needing to win in the last week of the season also seem to be able to pull it off. We need somehow to get a point to ensure the biggest footballing miracle W12 has ever seen.
But another factor is that each place gained in the league is an estimated £750000 in prize money. Stoke could go up 3-4 places earning themselves a tidy sum. I'm sure the owners and manager knows that. Plus teams always want to win on the last day at home. Stoke had bugger all to play for today but hardly rolled over.
they had a little more to play for than they will next weekend. 4 points from the last 2 games would have given them their best points total ever, and 2 wins probably a top ten place. Also whilst the money is important to the management of the club, i dont think the players get any bonus based on position money at stoke. Think i heard pulis discussing it as something for the future maybe.
