er From 2005/06 but hey ho they were part of the Reading side that stormed the league that year so there is hope!

Ivar and Ibrahim in Central Defence, Cressy left back and er Edwards at Right Back. We are saved I tell you. Onwards and upwards!

If only! Smacks of desperation to me that Sonko practically begged us for a contract. I just hope that he performs like he did for Reading and not Stoke, Hull or Pompey!

good to have an experienced option at the back, Pity we still have to put up with Donkeylaney and Edwards and most probably with leadfeetbitter in front trying to stop the attacks!

We should have bought Dean Lewington from the MK Dons FFS!

Reading obviously were not that interested in Sonko, and they have just signed Gorkks from QPR. Hate to be pessimistic, but they have got the better deal!

We need something to change though and hopefully Sonko can be the man, for now.

Are we saying that Sonko is better than Maca? Of course not! It is obvious that this is a panic measure to shore up whats left of our defence. There seems to be no vision at this club anymore its all knee jerk panic measures while other clubs steal a march on us by signing quality players. Even though I didn't personally rate Maca he is a dam site better than what we have now. Why couldn't PJ have put his foot down and given Maca what he wanted in the first place? If he had no intentions on getting in a CB replacement which clearly he hasn't why allow Mac to leave!

Difficult this management lark aint it! <doh>

    Cracking signing if it happens.

1 year deal , low wages , a million times better than what we have. Rather happy with this.

If it goes wrong + he's an absolute donkey, theres hardly any risk !!!! Also, he is a mile better than Smith + for me a lot better than Delaney.

Yeah but Westy I thought we were SUPPOSED to be more ambitious than that! <yikes>

Make do and mend may have won the war but it wont get us promoted!

As already said, it's a low risk deal and doesn't neccessarily mean we are done in the CB department yet. We are desperate for a CB and desperate measures call for desperate means. It is still possible we bring someone else in and Sonko will end up as back up. That's not a bad scenario and better than having no options, wouldn't you say.
People are crying out for a CB after the last two results, we get one and that's still not good enough. People really wind me up sometimes wth their incessant moaning. Sure it's not who we may all want but at least it's something to start with.

It hardly smacks desperation to me.

Also, if he performed how he did for Hull / Pompey + Stoke whats the issue. These teams traditionally don't concede as many as us, and Stoke in particular have had a strong defence for ages. Their embarrassing would be our good........

We've let in thousands of goals since I supported town, us having a leaky bucket for a defence is part of the fun....

Put it this way, Sonko now would be better than Naylor was for us in 04-05.

He won't be on low wages!!
Sonks was on trial at the farnbrough game and he couldn't handle their forwards
