Have just finished writing my "squad review", with more or less all players in the A-squad and my expectations for their upcoming season. (Yeah, I have a lot of spare time right now:redface:)

Just finished the defence "review" and realised how thin it really is. What will we do if Chester injures his knee like Stewart? (anti jinx!) We will more or less only have Hobbs and McShane available? Can't really count with Bradley, East etc, can we?

And I really don't trust McShane......

If somebody would like to google translate the midfielders "review" ^-^ Will probably look like absolute ****e though. The part about the defenders will be published tomorrow.

Will we loan someone as back-up?

the championships different to the premier league though, we got promoted with 2 centre backs and thats it, emergency loans run throughout the season, we'll just use that if we need to, 3 centre backs is plenty.

At the moment, we have a probable starting back four of:

    Rosenior
    Chester
    Hobbs
    Dudgeon

As back up, we have Kilbane, Dawson and McShane with Evans as extra cover.

In addition, we have kids in the shape of Bradley, Townsend and East.

I thought we'd bring in another centre back, but I've been told that we have no plans to do so, I'm no longer sure it's a big deal, unless we end up losing several players.

We have more then enough cover:
Chester and Hobbs are first choice pairing
    McShane and Kilbane cover
Dudgeon and Evans can both also play Cb
    Youngster avabilbe for emergencies

    At full back we have
Dudgeon, Dawson plus Kilbane at LB
Roseinor, McShane and Evans at RB
    Again youngsters for emergencies

    Not worried at all

We should be able to recall Cooper if we need and I would be relatively comfortable with him playing

Totally forgot about Kilbane. And yeah, I guess Evans can play as CB.

Oh well, better safe than sorry :)

If Cooper is on a season long loan we cannot recall him. It would be more likely that we would sign a centre back on loan should we have injuries and suspensions. I wonder how much confidence Pearson has in East and Bradley if he thinks they are ready for the Championship then that gives us more strength in depth. I don´t go with this lack of experience if you don´t play them how do they get experience at this level?

NP cannot recall Cooper until January. 2 recall options for January. If not LC stays at Huddersfield.

I would like to see both East and Bardley given the Bradford game alongside Dawson and Hobbs(if fit) or McShane.
We know what Chester can do so give him the night off.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So i would start the Bradford City game as follows

    Basso

East Hobbs or McShane Bradley Dawson

    Devitt Mckenna Cairney Kilbane

    Mclean and Simpson

subs: from the rest of the squad, except. Chester.

I'd be happy to see that with the exception of the front 2, NP seems to want to test as many different front 2 partnerships as he can before the start of the season, Mclean and Simpson are unlikely to partner each other much this season and they already played together at Winterton (with little effect), so i'd expect to see Adebola & Mclean start up front and then Fryatt & Simpson second half (or vice versa) as i don't think we've seen those partnerships yet in pre-season.

What position Does Danny Emerton play?

I think its vital we find out how these youngsters fare, id much rather we discovered a few could handle it, rather than bring in loanees or high wage transfers.

Totally agree sling East , Bradley and Maybe Emerton on the Left or right wing if he can play there. Be nice to bring some talent through instead of buying from elsewhere all the time

Emerton is a winger and whilst I think he's right footed, I think he can play either wing like most of our wingers.

Emerton is normally played as a winger, but he has played as a striker for the reserves.

I notice he isn't on the player list on our site yet, neither are East or Townsend, though Bradley and Holohan are on there.

Strange that Emerton isn't on there, since he made the bench last year and like Bradley and was given a squad number like Bradley and Holohan. Not sure what sets them apart.

I wouldn't read anything into it, the list is done by a 3rd party.
