It has been an indifferent start to the season really. From the great performance at Spurs and the good performace against West Ham where we should have taken all 3 points on both occasions to the drubbings at home from Liverpool and the first day away at Fulham. I am left baffled as to where we are as a unit as the results have been so wayward and odd, indeed If we had of taken the 6 points that we deserved we would be in 11th place at the moment. This shows how fine the margins are in the EPL between success and failure. Lets just hope that the if we put in a good performance we get what we deserve and we are not left talking about a "good" defeat, because these will not matter at the end of the season. Fingers crossed things start to move in the right direction and 4-5 goal defeats are at an end.
we aren't expected to beat arsenal. if we get any kind of positive result, it will be a bonus. fail to get a result and the season HAS to start next week at villa park. we've got a run of games which are all winnable - even man utd at home in my opinion - we normally give them a difficult game. two or three wins need to come in the next six matches
I agree, if in 5 games we still have not won any or maybe only just 1 then I will start to think the worse for the season. This is not doom mongering I think we will all have sufficient evidence by then if we are still the same that we should be worried going forward.
on a side note, look who's coming to visit tomorrow... http://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...ed-for-trip-to-see-wes-hoolahan-3264691.html?
Wow, he actually had to be told by the FAI that it was his job to go and watch talented Irish players play in the PL? What sort of international manager is he? Surely the role of any international manager is to see as many club matches involving eligible players as possible? Or am I just naive? Surely managers won't just keep picking the same names regardless of form, potential and talent? ...Oh wait.
It's simple really. When we have deserved a win, all three times we have drawn. When we deserve a draw we lose. When we deserve a loss, we get hammered. Some of it could be put to referee decisions against us, but we've got away with some vs Liverpool/Chelsea too (Not that it really helped us). Tough ask to get anything vs Arsenal the way they are playing at the moment, but we need to start getting points soon, or the fans will start to worry.
It's not that bad,we are not adrift.Tomorrow the teams around us look pretty unlikely to get much from their games and I think that if we could get a point our relative position would actually improve. This last run of games are not ones we would expect much from.Next week at Villa is crucial,we need to avoid defeat there.
beefs probably too busy writing the matchday thread to be on here now Cromer interesting that traps is at CR tomorrow. sure he'll be checking out Pilkington as well
whatever happens now and in the next few games we will be in the mix of 10 teams that could go down and if we survive it will be the same next year so dont worry just go and enjoy watching top sportsmen ply thier trade sooner or later we will go down and come back thats what we do, nowt wurt worrin bout OTBC
jack wilshere's agent has come out and said jack will be in the gooner squad tomorrow. interesting although suspect he will just be bench-warming, certainly for our Luck!
